"Add in thatthe timerdelay or slow down only lasts as long as the xp timer"

Not bad at all!

I am not going to say no to the idea of having it slow down in Scout camps, but a scout camp is just that a camp. A FB or HTFB is a base to work from and has the Med stations and look of a small MASH unit. But as always looks are not everything.

You want to know one thing that would make camps useful again?

Get rid of the 15 second delay on calling pets and speeders. Make it manditory or maybe a 3 minute wait to get the pet or bike out.

It stunk when camps calling vehicles and pets was the only reason to use a camp. I don't want use to be in charge of amking sure people get their vehicles, but that is just my opinion (i.e. I want there to be benefits to camps). In my discussions on the Corr forum, I had it pointed out to me that camps are not useless, there are just better alternatives to using camps.

Its nice to know that the 40 sp I used to get to Frontiering 4, could have been used in a better place for the better alternative.

I guess this means that the Corr Forum did not like the Camp idea?

Sorry..I didn't mean to imply that! For the most part the Corrs really like the idea. There has been no Dev input yet, but they like to lurk and see how things progress before they answer . The Corrscame up with some of the same arguements are you guys did here...what is to keep someone from pulling aggro into the camp, and bascially have unlimited buffs? I told them about how camps disband in combat and that the Ranger is always the first one to get aggroed due to our creature-to-bonus (I figured out that the bonus is not a chanve for us to hit the creature, but a chance for the creature to hit us!). This is not foolproof, however. Another thought was that maybe different level camps should slow down the buffs at different rates, but never stop the timer completely. It was also generally accepted that with food buffs being so easily obtained (you can eat food without having to be a specific profession), they would/should not be affected by such a camp.

Thats good hear! And yes I do not think food/spice buffs should be affected. Just ones give by a Doc.

Its creature-to-hit not Ranger-to-hit! Sounds about right to me.

Forgive me for asking, but what makes this idea useful?

I've never seen anyone in a rush because of their buffs. In a single five-minute mission, they can earn the money to pay for their next 15+ hours of buffs, so that's not really an issue.

If you want a temporary solution to make camps important until a better revamp, just get the devs to put a cap on the medical rating of droids (maybe 60 at best?), and link that rating directly to how strong buffs and wound healing are; if you want a good buff/heal, you either find a med center or a ranger, and if it's an emergency, you can pull out your little 15-second droid . (Also, it would be reasonable to lower the ratings on med centers and cantinas farther from civilization to 85 or 90, so a master ranger's camp is always one of the best places to get your buffs. People are willing to pay thousands of extra credits for a buff that's 100 or 200 points higher, so they'll be more than willing to go out of their way to find a nice ranger friend to make sure they're getting more than half-potency buffs.
