Honestly? The shortest route to getting trapping 4 is to get buffs, get some of the trapping increase food, make a ton of wire mesh traps, then head to Dath. Find a lone rancor and just keep chucking them over and over.

Why wire mesh traps you ask? because you can get xp from the same critter if you throw more then one of these at a them.

THAT is the fastest way.

I have to agree with everyone else though, enjoy your proffession. Personally I hate traps so this is what I did, but to each their own.

glow juice traps all the way for me.....they are cheap to make and you can throw them over and over and over....I did the whole trapping trees in scout and ranger on dantooine....each one I did in under one set of buffs easily....If you get smart and plan ahead run several crates of them in an equipment factory so you have enough room in your inventory for them. If you happen to have CH then you can use a creature tank to make it even easier on yourself....Other wise get buffed and 80% kinetic armor....I think I did a lot of mine on quenker relic reapers about 675 per shot....I also used the Dweezle the bonus to trapping food while I was at a lower level.

I am planning to go tkm/ranger on my char on tarq.

JB This person clearly states they want to be a ranger, to flame them is inappropriate IMO. He/she just wants advice.

Well my advice is don't grind Ranger. Take your time, learn the ins and out of the profession and enjoy it IMHO There is more to being a Ranger than just having a "Has Mastered The Ranger Profession" badge.

I have to admit that I made it through the last two trap boxes by grinding in the squill caves on Tat. I made a million glow-wires, joined a group, and spammed the squills - about 500 trap xp per glow-wire that lands (and most of them will land). I would think you could also use this to get the scout xp - harvesting the dead squills provides an insane amount of xp as well (but, unfortunately, no usuable resources - the static spawns give the full xp but only one unit of resources...).

I got incapped twice, but neither time did the squills finish me off.

Lame, I know. But one evening I was just feeling impatient.

as funny as this may sound...i leveled trapping by accident.

I was exploring one day and from a hilltop I saw someone trying to solo a Kimo....and they were actually doin pretty good.

I tossed in a wire mesh and it stuck for 1888 xp...i said "holy crap" that was awesome...the person got DBd and the Kimo stayed there so I tossed a sonic at it...it stuck and I got another 1888xp...but without the other person there keepin the Kimo occupied, it turned on me and bit my head off...

After cloningI went in search of this kimo and found him pickin the remains of my old body from it's teeth, I masked up and tossed another trap...no stick butI burst ran to safety...

I continued the toss and burst run tactic till I ran outta traps and maxed out trapping xp...

Trapping Kimos is not for the faint of heart...but damn good for the circulation :-)

The only ones that I have been diseased by are the bull rancors. All of the others dont seem to poison or disease. Just avoid the bulls and you should be ok. Personally I hunt mutant rancors >
