One of the Cartoon Network Clone Wars backstory has just that, on swoop bikes. A column of "cavalry" did the classic flank charge on a column of Republic hovertanks. Too bad for the sepratists that Obi-Won had just such a column of Republic cavalry to counter it. There is a classic "joust" between him and a bounty hunter that was leading the initial charge... on swoop bikes. Obi-Won cheated tho, later, and pulled out the light-sabre...
