Thread: I was wondering about an ability for Rangers?

As a new player that has decided to go for Master Ranger.(made MS this morning)... I was wondering something. Since from teh forum comments and jsut the way the profession is designed Mounts are considered a part of being a Ranger am I right? So in saying this wouldn;**edit** make since that a Profession that makes their living riding and Hunting from Critterback have a ability to use at least the lower end Weapon skills from the mounted position?
What I mean is I understand it is much harder to fire a weapon while mounted and moving or even mounted. But something like the ability to use Aim while mounted as a skill in the III or IV of a Ranger skill. Or even a small mod in each of the IIIs and IVs with another for Master.. Say +2 each? That would mean a Master Ranger would have a +18 Aim ability while mounted.
Just an idea..

The current line of thinking has been:
- Ranger: use specials (yours) while mounted.
- CH: use pet (pet attacks and specials) while mounted
No word yet from the devs on this and I doubt that we will get word for some time.

It wouldnt. We melee rangers are few and far between from what I have seen on my server

I see no reason this would exclude melee rangers. You should still be able to punch them or stick them from the mount as well. It would be very cool to see Pikeman rangers get a special weapon, like a TRUE power lance and be able to charge an opponent.

Mounts, we use mounts?
I about forgot they were in the game. In the mountains, I move faster on foot. On the flats, I use a swoop.
We have mounts still?

That is another bone of contention with me: we should be able to extend TN to mounts, as well as enhancements to /gallop like what we (or should) get with /burstrun

that reminds me of the images from the animated clone wars, the mounted lancers were quite impressive.
Unlike most ranged specials, melee specials have a certain motion capture to them, and using specials while mounted would probable be a bit more complex than anticipated.
Example: Fan Shot does not have a particular motion to it, however, carbineer's charge shot does. The flailing motion from the carbineer's action will be ok while mounted,
However, pikemans area spin attack, includes a twisting, spinning motion that would be difficult to replicate mounted. I think that is the heart of my critique. However, if it happened, rock on! that would be very cool.
