hehe your obviously not talking about the buffer docs then lol or the buff pack crafters.

Selling buffs for 10k a set with ques thatare ten long (and thats only when im quing) = 100k revenues

costs. well a 20 charge pack takes 22-28 avian so say 250 creds worth of avian (good stuff) for the pack, per charge we are talkingaround 15 creds per charge cost in avian.

Mutiply that by 6 for all 6 stats. Add the cost of all the other resrouces. Lets just go wild, lets call it 1k added and lets say 1k worth of avian per set or buffs. Its nothing like this but hey who cares.

8k net earnings from applying one set of buffs is very substantial. 10 buffs = 80k!

Now i have friends that have gone through many packs in an evening. With each pack having around 15-20 charges thats 150k-200k per set of packs. Ive talked to docs who have spent literally hours say down going through pack after pack after pack of buffs. If you sell 10 packs worth you are talking 1.5mil - 2 mil worth of credits in revenue.

They CAN make millions IF they want sit sit around for ages. I stand in theed and see a doc buffing and just say to myself "that guy has just made 100k there, in the time its taken me to get from the back of the que to the front." not bad

Sadly all you guys are good for ATM is supplying creature resources, if you don't want to do that, why are you a Ranger?

well it wasnt to become a living Harvestor

it was:

Because i like wondering though the wilderness with no specfic destination, only To enjoy the Hunt.

setting up a camp for some downtime beween hunts, relaxing by the fire while strangers come to admire my camps

Thats why I and im sure most became rangers, not to become harvestors, but for the style of play,

now personaly id rather take my harvest and make some nice Trophey Heads for wall mounting, Bantha Floors rugs, Dewback Table Legs( For archie to make a table with) ,stuff like that. not that i wouldnt want to sell meats/bone/hides to crafters as we do now, but id like to think we could acutally have a something to offer than just a stack of /hide/meat/bones for some other profession to make something. i mean can you pitcure having a Kimo hide couch in your house?

I've never been asked to fill an order for organic resources. EVER.

My best customer is a PA vendor who buys my Herb meat for 30cpu.

That's okay though, I prefer hunting for fun. I helped a friend fill an order he got once. Never again. I like hunting, but geeze, I've got other stuff I want to do too, y'know?

Here's why what your saying is not true:

A droid engineer can make a 100 medical droid. Nobody else in the game can do this.

You say we are the best hunters. Only problem is probably 75% of the players in the game can and do hunt. You take *any* master ranger template, calculate how much hide they are able to hunt for in an hour, then compare that to someone with hunting 4 where they have put all those additional skills into more combat and medical skills and I guarantee you the master ranger is going to look foolish by comparison. Oh, and by the way the guy who isn't the master ranger is also going tobe great at PVP and have other neat abilities in his bag of tricks as well.

Whats wrong with Rangers getting spammed with /tells "Can you harvest me some meat?"

To summarize, I am ALWAYS in need of Rangers services but RARELY ever get any cooperation.

Oh, and that's the other thing. As many others have said, I've never ever ever gotten a "can you havest me some meat spam". Never. And I am searchable, Iwore my master ranger tag for a couple of weeks, and I've wore, and do continue to wear my huntmaster title for months now.

One if you need to placer an order, check out the new Contracts Forum on the SWG-Rangers site.

Two, I read some things about Rangers working together on nightly hunts. That would be really nice. It is a server to server thing. Valcyn's Rangers are scattered. There is no nucleus of them anywhere that I an find.

If I am out of the loop let me know, but I tire of the solo hunt.

The group I speak of is on Bria. RoW (Rangers of Bria) is the group. They're great, from what I hear. I'm a soloist so I don't know where they go. At my request, I bumped into one while levelling. I asked him to assist me in giving me a few dath camo kits so i could evade nightsisters. He was resistent at first, but he ended up giving me a few kits. Nice guy indeed.

If you're on bria, there is a ranger chat channel in the public directory

I'm on Eclipse, and the concept that I could actually get paid for harvesting is new to me, that may seem strange to hear, but I have never been asked by anyone to harvest for them. It wasn't until the past couple of weeksthat I found someone who regularly needs meat, he gives me a unit price and the quantity he needs, and I put it on his vendor for him to buy.

The only problem I have with this is although the prices are verygood (150 cpu for Naboo Avian Meat), I still have trouble with fulfilling his orders. He wants 10k of Yavin Leathery hide, well great - but how the heck do I stay alive on Yavin long enough to get it?

I have composite armour, I'm a mid-level pistoleer with a very good pistol, I travel with a master doc! but even so I have trouble staying alive without the aid of a third person to fight the creatures.

That is why for my whole time in this game I haven't bothered trying to make money, by the time I get everyone together and go hunting we've wasted halfthe time I get to play - and then because I'm grouped my harvests are half what I would usually get. I made quite a bit killing Kaadu on Naboo (40 units per male Kaadu * 150 cpu = 6000 credits per male Kaadu killed), but I had trouble even getting Kaadu missions, as initially I wasn't far enough up the pistoleer tree to be offered them solo!

The scales are tipped against the ranger, and really makes it hard to even try to fulfill the few meat and hide orders that we stumble across (not offered to us).

You may get a better understanding if you asked why others choose not to be Rangers, like indeed yourself, why did you drop it may I ask?

I dont exist to serve anyone other than my own enjoyment in the game, I have a hard time keeping one or two Docs happy with resources let alone more, they consume the stuff at alarming rates, but, when I see the never ending queue for their buffing services at the Coronet Starport I can see why.

On my old serverI NEVER could sell my organics. I tried to put some up on public vendors at 5cpu (around 700+ quality stuff) and was told that was WAY to high and if i would lower it to around 2cpu then i would PERHAPS sell some. This is the same server that i had to pay around 15k for a pistol, 20k for my rifle, and could not even afford armor.
