Thread: Rangers!! When camo kit goes live........
Make Corellian kits, pretty much useless but what do the Artisans know. Sell them for the max on the bazaar. Or tell them they must provide the resources to make them, and then have some insane numbers to tell them, like 500 units of thisnthat. Golly gee, I can't be expected to make stuff like an artisan and provide the materials too, can I really do that?
500k is too low, I am pricing my stuff at 500k per use.

Hmm.

BTW, former 75th 2nd Bat ranger here, so I hold a special value on this profession. Although my outlook on where I want ranger is alot different than most. Im all about combat tactics, concealment, strategic base takeovers (which we need a huge role in), and of course superior marksmen ship. We are combat rangers, not some EQ, D&D, or LotRs rangers. Go ahead, bring a bow or a knife to a gun battle with modern rangers, lol.

The devs throw a speck of content in for us to actually get some use out of one of our skills, and this place is in an uproar. I just don't get it. I kind of fear what this place will be like if we ever do get a revamp.
It's not content. And they didn't do it for us.
It was an "easy fix" for the problems that CL/aggro created for crafters. Unfortunately, it doesn't help crafters. Most crafters wanted real protection, crafter certed armor, maybe an increase in HAM or anything, to be able to survive better. Lots of good ideas were suggested.
In the end, the devs assumed camo was the answer to their problems (despite crafters not asking for it), and ended up giving out a skill to everyone... not just crafters.
Honestly, the bigger market will be CL 80 combat professions hunting on Dathomir. Crafters will soon realize that camo won't help them avoid instant-incap.
Edit: Oppma, are you going to tell me that I don't belong here either and that my opinion doesn't matter?

I still see this as a good thing. We gained something, we didn't lose anything.
"But I'm a Ranger, not a crafter. I refuse to craft!" Fine. Don't. If you don't want to craft, then you never got any use out of the camo kits before anyway. We've always had to craft them. "But I'm a Ranger, not a merchant. I refuse to sell my goods!" Fine. Don't. Keep crafting the camo kits and using them only for yourself or your group.
I guess what I'm trying to get at, is how does the fact that some lvl 1 Artisan isrunning around wearing a camo kit that you made and sold effect your gameplay as a Ranger? How does this really ruin your gaming experience?

Eavik,
I don't believe the question is "how does the fact that some lvl 1 Artisan isrunning around wearing a camo kit that you made and sold effect your gameplay as a Ranger?", but rather, "why should I bother being a Ranger if everyone and their brother has the same abilities without the skill point cost?". The same argument was made by the Medics before the CU, and I agreed with them. The biggest difference here is that Medic leads to other things - Ranger is the end of the line, and the cost is such that there should be a reason for taking that career path.

AragornSoS and I have been thinking that there could have been a better method to help out the crafters.
They should have made a Bothan "pet" which can be hired from exploration terminals.
This pet, hereby named "Phen'emones" would reek of alcoholic beverages and bothan fury.
This concotion, which is the epitome of Bothan Ranger l33tness, makes every critter within a 500m radius to decide to not spawn in hopes that they won't be killed and harvested by a raging punchsoaked ball of fur.
F3AR teh PH3N!!
I think this would work quite well. We just need someone to find Phen (isn't he moving AGAIN) and see if we can't get him into that cloner for a sec...
/whistle loudly
"Heeeeeeeere Phen, here boy! Look, there's a punchbowl filled with Guiness over in that little room over there, just for you...."
