Although I've got a big pile of Camo kits for all the planets, I tend to stick to mask scenton the starter planets. I normally Camo on the others though, as it does last a lot longer if it doesn't break. I also have to re-apply more due to it running out, rather than breaking, when using Camo. Sometimes I will go with mask if I run out of kits mid hunt (my own stupid fault) as I have them stored in a mse droid, but I usually have my scout droid out. These times I ALWAYS forget I am not Camo's and usually always get jumped by aggro NPCs. I have found my Camo normally works against most Nightsisters up toNightsister Rangers. It's also very good against Sith Shadows.

Did Whips Quest at the village the other night. Having just traded in my surplus Scout XP I was surprised to find that, at the end of the run of pizza deliveries, I'd gained another 50k scout XP just from having /maskscent up at any and all opportunities.
I prefer camo, dunno why, just do BUT I couldn't be fished digging out the resources to craft some this time. Now that I know they give different levels of XP am glad I used mask.

Why is that anyway? Surely camo should give more XP due to the skill/resources requirement?

I think this has several possible explanations (and is probably due to a combination of them, although 1 is the most likely):

- You can get xp for using camo on other players. If you keep 20 people camoed, a single rancor will give you insane amounts of experience.
- Camo has a higher success rate (in theory) so you are more likely to get xp for each creature you find.
- NPCs sometimes are affected by camo so you have xp from more targets.
- It seemed appropriate when it was coded in.
- It's a bug.

It is very confirmed that Camo does not work on DJM's on Dantooine.

Hehe - was this the vehicle control quest? I made insane amounts of scout xp on that one...

Camo works at about 99.9999% against opposite faction NPCs but fails 100% of the time within 50m of an AT-ST. Even being an overt Imperial the AT-ST will break your camo. The message of the camo being broken by an AT-ST is annoying (especially being Imperial) but the day I get ranger spam of "it seems you're being stalked by an AT-ST" that I fear.

I have read, but not verified, that camo works best against factionally opposed NPC's.
