You and the mass influx of respec'd alts. This trap, in its current state,is so unbalancing to this game I am surprised it has yet to be addressed. And yes when I was a Ranger Pre-CU I did not use traps because they were irrelevant frankly given the power of a Pre-CU Master Rifleman. How Post-CU I heard about these and tried it out for the Gorax Tag. Sure enough these things work so well it is spreading like wild fire ingame and through many forums. Get 0004 Ranger and solo Krayts, GDK, Gorax's, etc. On one hand we finally have something that works (too well) but at what cost.

The Pdart should -snare- and the Adhesive Mesh should -root-. If both these traps worked as intended that Rangers and Scouts would have two methods of controlling combat for a limited duration of time aside from any other combat specials they have.

Doesn't the mesh root wear off if you attack again? The few times I bothered using it pre-cu was if I needed a quick getaway. If adhesive mesh doesn't currently function like pistolier's stopping shot, it bloody well should.

Yes the mesh was borked Pre-Cu and is worse now but it is the trap that should be providing a functional root (not a perma root). I have to agree with you in that I wish the adhesive mesh worked as a Pistoleers stopping shot and the duration of the root should depend on the crafting of rhte trap but that is an entirely different subject. The Pdart worked fairly well Pre-CU unfortunately it is now immensley overpowered as the most effective PVE perma root Post-Cu

I can't seem to kill any ancient dragon...I get them to around 85% or so and then it retreats andinsta heals to 100% again.


I've also tried with a probot for some extra damage but since the CU my bots attack once from range and then they go into melee and dies.....trap launch droid been doing the same thing, fire a trap then it goes melee and dies.

Recipe to kill an Ancient.


1. Pour 2 ounces of Boubon into the cook. Liquid courage yanno.


2. Go to Tat. (yeah, I know, but some peoples were once looking for Krayts on Lok)


3. Call Probot, not R series. No melee in probots.


4. Food up. Your choice.


5. Maskscent.


6. At 50m, p dart 1. Shoot the beastie at range. Backpedal to at least 35 meters. Instruct droid to attack then follow. It will attack but stay with you.


7. Specials. Bleed is great. Use sonic pulse to dizzy/stun as hits have higher damage when dragon is stunned.


8. When p dart 1 wears off, use p dart 2. Do not leave the 35-40 meter range and krayt will not retreat or run off.


9. Shoot your azz off. Melee people, you gotta have really big ones or be really stupid to take on a Krayt, but go for it. I will watch. From 35 meters thank you very much.


10. Remember, one shot from each group member = a badge for that member. Be nice, share.


Note- Nearby aggros may attack the dragon if you pull it through. I stress may. Dragonets did, feral banthas didn't.


And yes, I think p darts should be like stopping shot and ad mesh should root. But what do I know?

got the ancient and gorax badges tonight. with my guild.


And it was one of the best nights i've had playing SWG in a long long time. I was laughing so hard i had tears coming out! i popped a HTFB in the graveyard and we were all sitting there waiting for another ancient to spawn (because two guys joined group after we got the badge, so they didn't have it). well two adolescents spawn so we kill one of them, then as we turn attention to the second one, TWO Grand's spawn and EVERYONE dies! LOL then, as i'm laying there, well everyone was laying there, i look around to see my bolotaur is down and two swoops! it was total carnage! but it was hilarious. you just had to be there i guess.


then, my bolotaur recovers and charges towards the two Grand Krayts, and i'm like NOOOOO!, but then he stopped right over me. i was laughing so hard, it was like he was guarding my corpse. then i saw group chat and one of the group members said "that's a brave bolotuar" and that just got me rolling again. oh man.... good times good times

I wonder how many of these are from the P. Dart.( Maybe none, I am just putting the question out there though)

Auctions similar to this are happening on many galaxies and some not in forum but in game. Maybe a lot of these pearls have been sitting around for quite some time but it is also possible that many of these pearls are from the P. Dart.

*sigh* he just turns and retreats from me, and he retreats faster than I can catch up and has always healed up when I get back into range again.

all for the better, pal... i think even the most liberal member of this forum would agree thatp-darts acting like this borders on exploit...


but as jokito, and many others have pointed out: ranger's pretty much lacking in all other aspects right now, use what you've been given, accident or not...


i'd hope for afixfor traps... but i think we all know that the "fix" would really be breaking thep-dart to match all the other junk traps... bah... i just wish the p-dart were further up, maybe advanced trapping 4, so only the devoted could use it... i dunno, it'd feel less wrong that way at least...

It depends on your level as well....If you are say CL 25....I dont think you will ever stick a trap on a CL 80 or above...
