I respeced my ranger on wanderhome to mch when the cu hit. when the revamp comes our way I think it would be more beneficial to actually work your way back up the profession the right way. This way you get to test everything as you progress and see how they work at lower levels. Maybe it's just me though. I love working my way up to master ranger. I feel like I earn the right to wear the title even if i have done it many times before.

Another compromise *could* be similar to what they do with pilots. Once you have one master pilot, you get double-xp when you re-do pilot with another squad, faction, etc... could be exploited for the FS grind though (unless they did a /2 on the trade-in for non-masters with the badge)

This is a hard discussion pointand there are basically4 arguments.
1: Those past rangers who have decided to drop ranger because it is not viable to play should get to respec back to ranger once ranger is fixed.
2: Those rangers who have dropped ranger have dropped it and should have to re-level itif they want the skills back, they didnt HAVE to drop it after all.
3: Anyone should be able to pick up ranger because of the fixes we have recieved over the mini-revamps.
Personally i dont think that a respec is needed/justified. Many people dropped DE before it got a revamp and didnt get the option, same with chef and with BE. Now we have the respec code in place then maybe but i dont think there is a big enough argument there to justify changing to code and getting everyone who dropped ranger there skills back.
Dont get me wrong it sucks that to so many people ranger isnt viable anymore, i understand your point and if there is enough support i will push for this idea for you, but my personal take on it is that if you dont have ranger, you should be able to be ranger again just because issues have been fixed and the profession has been made worthwhile.

For the record, I doubt this will ever happen...

Oh, and Owen, I agree with you, especially your fourth point .

But, I am about 3 seconds from remastering Ranger anyway...

Yeah, fully support option IV here. Especially the bit about socks.

"Post revamp", all being equal, anyone with a mastery of another combat elite skill ought to be in a good position to get back to Master Ranger in no time at all. Grab that harvesting line first, get the bigger harvests and the higher scout XP. Fill your other two lines at 'express' rates and that just leaves the poohflinging, I mean, trapping... and if that's fixed too we're laughing.

It'd be tempting to respec back into ranger, seeing as I aready have my master badge I'm half tempted to support that option, but, why should ranger be any different from any other profession that gets a revamp in future?

Let's just keep tings simple. Give us our revamp, some off/def and acc mods, let us keep our health, CL and harvest boosts and maybe make traps and camps work in a way that's worth while. Good old TN to apply to non-crawl transit and maybe a graphic tweak for camo, /.shruggage. Anything other than that is window dressing.

I'd almost rather see them temporarily cut the XP requirements to make it easier to re-master.

Another option (one I think they should have implemented with JTL) would be to let ALL players re-master ALL previously held titles at a discounted XP. You mastered Ranger 1x? you can master it again at half cost.

I'd rather not. Keep players from being wishy-washy.

Rigth, the devs are aware of the situation and want to address it. Me and Paks are working hard making sure the devs are distinctly aware at every chance we get to speak with them that this is a massive issue.

your the man!

although I was just too stubborn to respec to anything fun, I think my fellows should be able to get a break somehow when the Ranger Fixes come.

I don't see why the Ground game doesn't have the JTL Re-Mastering Code. I think that is the best and most plausible expectation. But letting old Master Rangers/Smugglers/SL's straight up Respec would be great too!

How abut if anyone with a master ranger badge could just respect to get to novice ranger, instead of master. Better then nothing.

Or instead of asking them to put something new into the game (and ensuring that it works), just let those who want to be rangergrind a few hoursto master scout, and the devs can fix something that is broke instead?
