Ive always been a pistol fan myself. I either use my 689 dps FWG5 or my 658 dps Scatter, modified dps of course.

I've always been a Riflewoman, where else would I have had a conveniant place to dry my socks while wondering the wilderness?

My top 3 critter punishers are ( in order ).
Eliete Carbine - I was a Carbiner for a while andI love em.
Advanced Laser Rifle - The perfect little black rifle for thesophisticated hunterwholikes toownGame at a dstance.
FWG5 - Pistol, Other than the great damageI like it because it looks a lot like a 1911 to me.

Doc/Ranger here, sometimes I forage and throw large stones..... Seriously though, I love the combo. With a combat droid I do quite well solo and I'm always welcome in groups. I have no Marksman at all.....

I personally really like the look of the Intimidator Pistol so I ended up voting pistols on the page (although it's really an SL weapon). And, if I were choosing based on weapon skills, I also really like Smuggler skills (which is sort of pistols too).
I also happen to really like the look of swords so Fencer would probably have ended up being second choice. Or maybe lightsabers if you gave the option
. But I'm sometimes a bit silly in choosing things less for the power than the cool factor.
Going more for utility, I'd probably pick rifles. I just haven't found any rifles I like quite as much as the Intimidator Pistol or some of the in game swords. I used to like some of the rifles quite a bit (like the DXR6B) but, post CU, they're just not as cool as some of the newer weapons in my opinion.
TKM is great fun as well but the weapon choices are somewhat limited. Although I really do enjoy being useful when walking around "unarmed".
Swordsman seems like it would be fun but I haven't seen a weapon there that really appealed to me so I never tried it.
And Pikes are just too big for a Bothan.
As for carbines, I've just never felt the urge to try carbines. I don't know why but it's just never appealed to me for no particular reason.

It's lonely being a Pikeman / Ranger - but not as lonely as being a Fencer / Ranger.
