While I do agree that it would be niceto be able to solo a red con, by ourselves(not counting any further assistance from pets) the devs have flat out said that no profession should or will have abilities that let them solo it. So I'm just talking realistically here. Now, dhould you be able to take on a herd of banthas or even solo yellow cons, sure. And by red cons, I mean what would show as red if you were maxed out as a combat profession, not what would con red if you didn't have any other combat skills(ie the really tough mobs).

For those saying, well what if I don't choose to spend skills on other combat professions, I should be able to solo without those skills. I hate to break it to you, but thats the same argument the CH's tried to use against the Devs, and it didn't fly there and probably won't fly here. This is why: because not choosing to have any direct combat profession skills is a personal choice you make. The devs *have* to balance around the max potential damage you could deal with the remaining skill points you spend. So long as we have room to spend skill points to max out a combat profession as well as be master ranger, you just have to accept that reality...its a choice you make in the game and there are pros and cons to any choice.

Now, for clarification, what I'm saying at the start of this thread is soloing without any other assistance be it pet, droid, or another player. And we need to have limits in place, otherwise we will get adjusted down the line for being too powerful against PvE. I'd rather get this right now than be super powerful for a short while and have it all taken away. Every arguement I'm giving is based on known experience with how the devs think, the actions they have taken for other classes who are too powerful in some areas, and experience with balancing in many many other games.

I'm not saying what I posted up above is *the* way we should do it. I'm just saying we need to think about this now and set some realistic limits on ourselves now. We are one of the few professions, that due to us being mostly low in value when going live, have the unique opportunity to help shape our profession into exactly what the players want. I'm saying we should think realistically here and knowing how the devs think and work, propose solutions to potential exploits we can think of "now" while our input has more meaning, rather than wait till later and let the devs completely decide how it will be done(or go through months of back and forth compromising like some of the other professions are dealing with now).
