Well generally the Armorsmiths are the ones with the big wallets so that is why you see more hide and bone. When going for bulk I usually hunt whatever makes the most money.

Wild meat and possibly carnivore meat are used in some of the BE creations.

I tend to hunt Carrion Spats frequently. As I usually save the other animals for hides. What is about the going rate for most meats? My usual dealer only pays2 per unit.

Dyrwen, you are getting screwed royally if it is really good quality. You can make at least 2-5 times that just by selling it directly, even more if you put it on the bazaar. I have lots of peeps to whom I sell and no one gripes about price if it is really good stuff. They know that some of the resources I provide come from beasties and places that few others are able or willing to engage. Or more so, they want to spend their time crafting and not spend time huntingaround thegalaxy for the good stuff- that is our job!!

I use the bazaar a lot because the guys that want to screw you by paying a really low price end up going to the bazaar paying a really high price sincefew will fall for their bs. Whatever I do put on the bazaaris usually sold out within hours and sometimes stuff is selling while I am still stuffing the termina!!

Don't sell yourself cheap!! Trust me, if your selling for 2cr, that broker is selling for a lot more if they know how it works!

Oh yea, tickets to exotic planets are reimbursable too!

was killing a few minutes before servers went down for the bug fix (it's not usually an update, call it what it is),and just got done harvesting a couple dozen carrion spats (meat). only the PE is above 800, rest are in the dumps. was getting about 18 units per harvest.

Considering the scematics i know of that use meat, most use 66% OQ and 33% PE. or just OQ. soi'll prollysell this meat in the bazaar cheap, as it would take forever to get a stack of 1000,

The reason that a lot of this is unknown ... I have no clue . I heard that Doctors use specific resources in some of their recipes , so I asked about 5 doctors I found here and there and I was not able to get a clear answer . Most did not know , or only knew about the Avian meat requirement .

There was a wonderful Avian meat on Lok that was 900+ in both the important stats but unfortuneately I found out about it a day before it changed . There is now one that spawns for 600+ both stats , not the greatest but it's ok I guess .

Thanks again for the info , will put it to use . And to the guy getting 2 per ? Man , your getting hosed . I sell even average meat for 10per and the super stuff for 15per and it doesn't last a day on a good Bazaar spot . Good hutning all

As for cost, I charge my Dr friend 3cr per, but he gives me free Enhancements to hunt (+2000 to health/Action and +1200 to secdary stats makes harvesting quite a bit easier ) and he sells me crates of37chg 357heal Stim B's at a discount.

So, try to work out some barter with the Doctors. Sometimes that can be better than money.

Even insect meat and other junk meat can be used. Bio-engineers use a ton of meat. Even if they are grinding it requires 15 units of meat per attempt and if cloning a animal it is 45+ meat. I buy as much meat as I can with the very limited resources I have. Most of my meat comes from what I've gathered or from trades (good for good) that I've done. If they ever fix BEs to where a number of people actually start to play one you will see the need for meat grow even more.

Hence my reasoning for Rangers needing to harvest more then one resource at a time. We can't cover both the armourers and the meds (and now the BE's) without using more of the animal. Ancient cultures and aboriginal americans used ALL of the animal and got far more use out of it then we are getting currently. There are not enough Rangers to cover everyone. There are lots of Scouts but they have stopped harvesting and went on to their "real" professions.

Rangers-

All resources for different galaxies are varied as far as I know. Right now, I have found that currently, on the radiant server, LOK has the best herbavore meat for combat medics, etc. Snorbals are in great supply there.

The reason we all get hides / bone is because there is a much greater demand for it AND it fetches a much higher price... although you can find high level medics to contract you for specific needs (Remember to work in your travel costs to anf from).

On Radiant, I have established the "Ranger Information Network" which has a bi-weekly newsletter and a galaxy chat channel setup for Rangers. This way we will have the best information and quickly after a resource shift, as well as keeping the hides / harvest economy stable, getting contract work and finding out other info such as creature loot drops, fetching prices, etc. Hey, I even sold some add space to a weaponsmith in the newsletter

I would encourage all other rangers in other galaxies to do the same. When it is all said and done (And we get our patches for group harvest, etc) we will be a driving force in the galaxies economy and earn a place (finally) within the works.
