I'm posting this as a public service announcement for my fellow medical professionals. Based on a search for your boards, I can't see this clearly identified.

Right now, most Scouts/Rangers that I see collect only hide and bone, due to the needs of the Artisan class. However, you have an untapped maket right now.

Doctors and High level medics have a huge demand for High Overall Quality Avian Meat and High OQ Herbivore Meat. We need the Avian meat for our Enhance/Buff packs and the Herbivore Meat for one of our critical and often used Advanced Subcomponents. As these aren't things your can use a harvester for, most Med/Docs just get it themselves in small quantities. This wouldn't have to be if the Scouts and Rangers would collect it in quantity. And I don't think it's for lack of interest, but mainly because your don't know we need it. I'd like to put that to rest.

Good quality meat isn't isolated on hard planets either. On my server, Corellian meat is the best I've ever seen, so there is a huge opportunity to get stockpiles of it. All we need is high (800+) quality and in large quantities.

Please, help create a market. I know I'd pay for it if it were available.

What is considered High Overall Quality? And does Potential Energy come into play at all? I have some with high PE but only average OQ.

As I remember medical crafting uses:

66% OQ

33% PE

So higher OQ is always better (it seems to be that way for all crafting actually).

Biascally if flavour, quality and energy total over 20'000 points then you have some very good meat. So just add up the three values and you'll see what good the meat is.

I totally agree on that. I've left the hide gathering to all the scouts out there for the most part. If a creature has herbivore or avian meat, those are my first choices no matter what the quality, even the quality of the hide matters not to me anymore because as was posted elsewhere the best quality stuff is on easy planets for the most part. I give away the low-quality and small amounts of the high-quality meat to medics and bio-engineers that help me and sell what little is left.

I hate to give away the secret to one of my few income sources, but other resources that we rangers are well suited to gathering that help the meical profession are: Dantooine Berries and Lokian Wild Wheat. These are required ingrediants for high-end medical components also and a good use of our lots that we really have litte other use for. These are on planets that only a ranger is going to be able to or want to spend the time to find the best concentrations and regularly maintain the harvesters (there are always agro creatures near the best concentrations), and the sales of these on the bazaar is about the only way I'm able to manage travel expenses to these great planets that I love to explore regularly.

There really needs to be (maybe there is and I don't know it) an equivalent to the floral "problem" that makes killing creatures on these advanced planets more worth-while from an economic perspective

On Tatooine, I've found that mynocks, gorgs, and eopies (except domesticated) will give herbivore meat. Someone else will have to give info about other planets.

First off, only the attribute called for in the schematic is important, and only that.

I have recently opened a vendor outside Coronet, on Bloodfin. Ihad a notion about providing only quality meat/hide bone from a vendor. started searching all tha planets, and then hunting primarily those creatures withy at least one at 900+. i have many that are dual use or more. one avian meat is 900+ OQ/ 800+ PE (very desireable for doctor buffs) . anothercouple have flavor 900+(chefs). BH's need some for spices i understand, and i know there are more. all available in stacks of 200 -1000.

and as well, i will take special orders,

I have basically switched tactics lately. I am only gathering meat now as most seem to ignore it.

I just sold 7k of OQ 922 meat to a Combat Medic. She only wants herbivore meat.

I would like to ask this: What is the beneficial difference between Carnivore meat, Wild Meat and Herbivore meat and if medics need herbivore meat, do only chefs need Wild and Carnivore?

It has to do with their schematics (only reason I know is my wife play a doctor). Some of their high end schematics require very specific resources, i.e. herbivore and avian meat. There's some really crazy ones too like Lokian Wild Wheat.

There's nothing inherently better or worse about different types of meat, I'm sure some schematics need other types of meats.

At any rate, for their low end and run of the mill subcomponents, they can use any type of organic, so if you find high quality meat you will most certainly find some medic/doctor to buy it.

I found some OQ 988, PE 894 insect meat on Tattoine last weekend and sold it to a doctor for 6:1.
