Tracking should be reserved for Rangers. It should NOT be part of the Scout profession which is, simply put, a starter profession.

I agree this would be a very nice addition to the Ranger Class. I do want to express my concerns that I'd hate to see this go to the Scout. Maybe at Master Scout they get a weak version of it but right now almost everyone has some scout skills and I feel the scout class is already pretty much a solid profession. I definitely can't say the same thing for us rangers.

Good post, well written.

This is a great idea and should go near the top of the needs list. I mean seriously what is the point of all the camoflauge if we cant' track creatures? Maybe we could get a /stalk command where after we use the command or tool to find the creature or the creature's area we could hone in on their position. It would go nicely under the barron Field Bioscince tree. The Creature to Hit increase in Field Bio is nice but for Rangers who are not too heave into Marksman skills (for example - those who are mainly groupers who would rather have high level medical skills when they master then weapon skills after they become master ranger.). A couple thoughts on the command or tool that would find the animals: The ability to find the animal could change depending on the time of day or weather conditions, and maybe it could be implemented into the world map somehow.

/agree

i played a ranger in eq...he could track...why cant my swg ranger track? ! I think this is an excellent idea. I especially like the surveying idea, i think it would be the best way to impliment it without causing problems or complaints from other classes.

thread duly noted.

I would expect that implementing a tracking system that is worthwhile might take some time to get coded, tested, and out to the test center/live servers.
