actually, these are kind of useless to concealshot riflemen too.

We like to lay about 50m away.. the droids can only be used within 30. Thus, we have to get our lasy butts up anyway.

Anyway, yeah I use concealshot cause I'm fighting quenkers now trying to get exp. Little too big for mindshot1 headshot2 headshot2. By that time, they're on me like I was a blonde virgin. But I wipe out the entire wave before I get up and harvest.

I was going to get a harvesting droid, but having read here that you have to command it to each corpse, I won't now get one.

I set my pet attacking the lair and fan shot the lair also from nearly max pistol range whilst laying prone.

The creatures drop fast and I am not targetting them anyway. So no droid for me.

It might be ok if we could <TAB> through corpses, but we can't.

Like I said.. I'm a Master Ranger and Teras Kasi Master , and I agree 101%. There is no way that using a droid will help me harvest and I bet thata very high percentageof people hunting organics for a living would say the same thingregardless ofclass.

Here's the icing on my cake aswell..

I'm stuck with a bug which constantly adds waypoints to my datapad meaning that it is 100% full.. If I delete something like a waypoint a new one is added but I can't see it or delete it, in other words grabbing two missions I can bust the datapad and get it up to 102% full. The funniest thing about that is the fact SoE CSR's have firstly told me to move my bug report to a different place because I was using the wrong sectionwhich was for 'priority help only' and I would be 'disciplined' if I continued to report faults incorrectly, thenwhen I moved it the next CSRsaid that there is no fix available for that bug and I should close my ticket and wait..

I have a full datapad due to a bug in SoE's software , if I did want to use this droid the sad thing is that due to a fault which hasnt been fixed by the dev's because they were no doubt too busy creating this new content I can't add that droid to my datapad thus making the new content useless even if I did want to use it.

Ok,soI do know a workaround to add the droid to my datapad, but it involved destroying some of my exsisting waypoints, not travelling using shuttles or loggingout and getting a droid in that time.. I am trying to paint a picture herejust look at the position and see what your priority would be if you were making the game. Oh and I figured that workaround out by myself which didn't take much brain power I may add, no CSR help even though it would be nice to be told a knownworkaround to an issue in a CSR response and not just a "Aint fixed, wait and Shh.."

It's all a question of priority, and frankly if I had a priority list of bug fixes and improvements this would have been 999/1000 on the list , only in front of bumping up the stats of the starting melon.

Unless I have seen a droid made in 'real world' environment with that harvestmodule and tested it myself, I can't judge on it.

I tend to disagree on a lot of things with those that as of now had access to such droids (in a non-'real-world' environment on top of that, TC's overall itemqualities are noticable below the stuff we can get on live), I wouldn't wonder much if I again would disagree about this .

I'm one of those pansy riflemen that likes to sit at long range, kill targets in 1-2 headshots (conceal shot is way to weak/slow to be worth using for masters, as mentioned above) before they even know what hit them, and avoid moving whenever possible. I'd generally prefer to refer to this style as "efficient" or "sneaky" rather than "wussy", but to each his own, I suppose. So from my perspective, I am quite excited about the new module. I'd like the range of the bot to be higher when harvesting, but according to folks on TC, it is at 45m instead of 30 now, which will work good enough.

If you are any melee class, or a pistol user, then you end up being close to the stuff you kill when it dies. If that is the case, then I guess that the only benefit will be any percent bonus that a well-crafted droid gives to harvest amount. And hey, when I'm trying to grind together 10k avian meat for my doc buddies, I won't say no to any bonus we can get...

Finally... Reality check. We are on the *ranger* boards, and you just said that you are "against useless fluff". Last time I was a master ranger, that pretty much described 3/4 of the ranger profession (see my sig).

You want to convice me different?

He has... And that is probably the most depressing thing which I have heard today...

Perhaps if they spent less time adding in more useless fluff and actually made the useless fluff which is our profession alot less useless and fluffy it would stop people arguing about the addition of more useless fluff into the game ?

Duplication from the other droid test thread....

Ok, I finally got a droid on test and now that a "professional" harvestor tried one of these babies, it's review time.

  1. It harvests ONLY the body you designate.
  2. You cannot sequence commands. If the server has not told you it harvested, and you tell the droid to do the next one... you don't harvest the previous, you HAVE TO wait.
  3. no loot option. That wonderful /loot all;/harvest bone macro is going to server you better.
  4. will not draw aggro. You can drop the Reptillian Flyer, harvest it, all in full view of the 5 Rancors around it w/o fear.
  5. you cannot generate more harvest then you would normally. I got an R3 packed full and the skill mod is 103%. Pretty much the same as you would normally harvest. There is no you harvest-droid harvest benifit. It's you or the droid and then you're done.
  6. grouping with the droid DOES reduce harvest... but they claim to be working on that soon so that you don't loose harvest. It was also stated that grouping with pets would be fixed as well.
  7. I could pull out the droid with pets. The droid had a CL above what I normally could pull. I'm guessing that sense I bought a droid w/o any combat ability that they let you do that, which is good.
  8. The little bugger can go as fast as my speeder

I'm confused now..

Did you post that here to show us that it's all good , all bad , or subject to personal opinion ?... If it's subject to opinion then based on those facts I think they look more useless than I thought and stand by my previously uninformed but strangely correct appraisal of the droids sucking...

I want a harvesting droid I'm a Melee Ranger and this droid would help when hunting animals that blind. When blinded, you can't harvest, but I'm betting the little droid can.
