An interesting situation, let's consider it for a moment:

Logically speaking, in real life, attempting to conceal an entire squad of noisy people with no specialized training of their ownis just not easily done.

• Maybe if the group were composed of Special Forces, but then each of the group members would have training in concealment and would therefore not need the services of a single Ranger.

/conceal works great in small bands (2-3 people including the Ranger), but will probably never work perfectly for a large horde of players.

Where did we say that? No single profession is entirely self-sufficient in this game, nor should they be.

• Now the Rangers tend to be more self-sufficient than the other groups


• But in order to use the more advanced parts of our profession, there should be a need to interact with others (or employ some skill that is outside our skill set, ie: /survey).

Interesting... But in order to master our profession, we must also master concealment.

• So part of the profession also entails hiding from creatures as well.

I will admit that an added Creature Combat bonus at the Master level would be a nice addition, and several items relating to just such a request are on the Requests list.

Is progress being made?

I noticed that my mask scent / camo isRARELY being broken in combat now. I know it's not a situation of icon lag because I get scouting XP notices when in combat. This seems to ba a recent development and I am happy with it.When not using /concealShot, social MOBs still attack in clusters (**edit**those swarming dewbacks!), butdashing past anotherred cluter doesn't add to the party.

Soloing is a bit easier now.

In regards to the camo statements above, guess I have just been exceedingly lucky with mine. I generally apply them to our five person group Dathomir hunts, and my group members are always joking about how they can go pet even ancient bull rancors...

I can/have walked right up to Krayts, giant Kimogilas, with no problem. On the other hand, some creatures literally break it when I even THINK about getting close to them (mutters something bad about Kreetles)

For the record, my camo skill is +128.

I'll also chime in and state that I have very good results with camo as long as the group is 2-5ish. Much larger and we're just too noisy of a mob it seems.

BTW, thanksfor the entertaining thread Z. Normally I bypass whiny childish rants like yours but you've evoked interesting responses from NRaas and JB. I like NRaas' responses because they are logical, fair and to the point but JB has the freedom to add that extra "zing" in there that NRaas, because he's the Ranger Correspondent, has to hold back on.

Hey I am just trying to make sure that we are not getting screwed over on our seriously hard work and dedication that (for those of us who AREN'T addicted...ha ha..) we have put into something that we COULD like and love but the substinance just isn't there for us and .. for me at least... the profession is just to empty compared to others.....

were this a level based game.... I think more ppl would enjoy it.... in catering to a more open...8hr a week group of players (I am not saying thats a bad thing).... they have severaly agrivated those of us who play a little to much (yes I am admitting to playing to much). So we sit there 4+hrs a day and 16hrs on the weekends, thumbing and pecking thru all the things that are wrong with this game and we have nothing better to do then come up with our on solutions..... which btw I have heard MANY great and very real changes that could/should be made to not only our profession but this game.... granted they are undermanned... but that is on them ... not us.. we are paying them .. aren't we??

plus interresting conversation on the msg boards keeps u up to date on stuff

and a personal thanx toNRaaswhohas been able to handle what he is doing, compared to commandos who have lost some 8 corrispondants due to sony hating on commandos cause of whatsony did to them... nerf.. unnerf.. nerf again and add this then break taht and take away this while cause... yea well /pray for next commando correspondant..... take this time to thank you for sticking it out in yet another broken profession

butI am partial to 'our' dev for taking the time to fix chef.... I need to get off of my spice addiction.... some good ol fashion food and an ale would be so much more healthy for me....plus the arm is getting sore from dr's jabbing me with buff needles all the time...
