Thread: Why do I continue to hear some of the most OUTSTANDING IDES... yet
The ideas I am hearing on this forum are the most rational of all professions... REAL STAR WARS ITEMS given to rangers.... traps, uber creature knowledge and attack damage...... YET! We are ignored.... now I know u have to love us... WE GIVE YOU YOUR PAYCHECK... no us.. .. no u!!! Please stop punishing us, give us what I and MORE PPL THEN U consider to be efftive REALISTIC and FUN modifications to our profession! I am a master ranger and the only advantage I have, I harvest the most out of any creature.....boo wooo hoo... yea sure its kewl but when u group hunt, in which a ranger is a must, your combined totals is more then a ranger could ever get .... /areatrack... it is not living up to its fame, /conceal.... this is no better then a /maskscent taht has been done and a lil more caution take.... if I am or anybody else is under /conceal applied by a master ranger.... NOTHING should see me nor break my camo PERIOD!!! Make Master WORTH SOMETHING. Traps..... the only reason ppl use traps is for traps xp. I work with 3 other master rangers in my guild.... since we got Trap4, non of us nor any of the other master rangers I have worked with throw traps.... why? WORTHLESS, any state we can apply to a target.. melee/ranged elite can apply .. so why should I take an attack turn to do it??? CAmps are about the only good thing we have.... I have been invited to hunt just cause of our camps.... wow I feel special.... no I don't why, cause you aren't making us special..... we are in the bottom of the profession list, why... we get no REAL advantage...... at least give us a +50 OR MORE +creature-to-hit bonus and make it ALL weapons, not melee.... why u trying to diss melee!!!!
For the love of the money that I pay u, LISTEN TO US! U have already lost 60% of the ppl who started this game in the first 2 weeks.... why cause u don't listen to your customers... thats just BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I mean I may be just ranting and raving but when I look ALL OVER these message boards and hear the same thing ... U AREN'T LISTENING TO US... I am beging to wonder how much longer u will keep veterans to this game..... honestly!!!

And when you do, check out some previous posts, on how our Dev is the main Dev for cities, and a couple of other professions too. And how he was up to his azz in aggliators and they were shipping in crockigators for fun. Warm Pepsi and cold pizza only work for so long, dude does get some down time.

JB you are right there is only ONE DEV who know what they are doing and that is GREEN MARINE To bad he will go to smugglers next. I guess there is no one else there who can get the job done, because no other professions work and the ones that do are being broken.

I ama Master Ranger, "I alone am best" at beating creatures, ITS MY PROFESSION, yet as a ranger I feel less then any combat elite for the simple fact that a Ranger Combat Elite profession has no value cause there is no chagne, so why waste the pts on ranger when they could spend them else where? I am in this for the creature killing and the story line, I am not a PvPer, why cause i hate listening to 13yr olds talk about how 'your mama this and I schooled u that' crap that composes the PvP realm.
A simple +65 Creature-To-Hit bonus as a master ranger would shut me up, how hard would that be, AND MAKE IT ALL WEAPONS, not ranged only .... shoot melee should do more damage cause honestlly... a master fencer shoves a sword into the weakest spot of a creature and takes half his life (with in level reason, I mean half living a krayt is reduculus but u get my point)would be worth being a master ranger, ppl would want u on hunts cause u not only know so much about creatures defense stats and other info, but u can do so much more damage because of that knowledge, its kewl and all to give a breif to your group on what armor and resists a creature has... but when a creautre has med armor and 90% heat resist and no acid resist and I still see Commandos and Pistoleers in my group using heat damage, I just shake my head and wonder if what I am saying gets thru to ppl...
And this dev thing? THIS IS SONY, multi billion dollar company that is going to do nothing but rake in the money off of our sorry arses for dealing with this 'stuff' that they feed us .... trust me they can hire more ppl!!!
And if the devs would listen to u, me and the other players, and not the project manager this game would have such a larger audiance, the only thing that keeps me from quiting is storyline, and thats a thinning line.

Personally, that does not sound very balanced to me. The skill would be uber if there were no way to break it.

You are exactly correct, that is why I don't use traps myself (as I am melee)...
- But for those of us who don't have Melee, or Solo (there are a lot of those type of players ), the effects are quite handy.

Any change made must be rigorously thought through to ensure that it does not unbalance the system.
- Personally, I would not want the developers makingquick and dirtychanges that would futher diminish my enjoyment of the game.
But the developers therefore require time to think about the implications...
- Since GreenMarine is currently focusing on Chef and Smuggler, all his attention is on ensuring the changes he makes there don't unbalance the game.

Yes they could. But the ramp up time to train these new people would be in the order of months.
- The newcomers would need to learn the systems, the pitfalls, the what-nots, the how-tos, the technical hurdles, coding practices, design limitations.
- And to teach them, another developer would have to be pulled off working on some needed area.

What about sonic pulse? Even as a TKA, I like to use this because it is an area stun. I much prefer getting hit not as hard by all the things that I agro'd me rather then just the one I have targeted. Wish they would get flash bombs working...that would be another area we could actually use. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, of course, the Ranger AoE traps are quite useful for those nasty swarm situations.

Your logic is flawed, you won't listen to reason nor will you use the spell check. Every one of your comments can only lead the reader to conclude that you are an unhappy camper because you are not "l33t and uber", as that is exactly what you are asking for.
Your camo argument is stupid. No one has camo that works 100% of the time, even Ghillie suits are not fool-proof. Bang, that'd dead.
Thrown traps are useless ... Oh? try Pdarts and Glow wire, work great. Sonic pulse is now working on groups, at least for me.
/Areatrack ... what do you freaking want, waypoints? Learn to read a compass or quit whining for crap's sake. Of course it can't see things that have not spawned yet, pretend (wow a novel concept) that the animals did not walk where you are looking, hence no tracks to read.
+50 creature to hit bonus, which grows to +65 later on... realistic, if you have some combat skills to go along with the profession. And I gotta clue ya, melee is due for some loving, but realistically, no one hunts with a jack knife.
Oh, did I say combat skills? You want to be bad, get some. And if you say Carabineer, I will fall out laffing. Drop some of the CH and get rifle or pistol and you will be able to kill stuff, instead of depending on your pets to save your sorry azz.
You may be a Master Ranger, but do me a favor and change the title over your head. Go Chef or something, then you can get some cheese with your whine.
Now, take your 50 cents a day and go play nice, or move along, your choice.

So my stats say +100/+101 to camoflage, as a master ranger I apply a camo pack to my group we head out and an alpha bolma break half my groups camo.... ok bad timing, so I reapply to the broken group members and we carry on, bam group loses this time, rancor... sure its high level but its not an intelligent creature. Reapply to those ppl I can cause I am running out of camo at this point in time.... bam kamus break it and I said forget trying to apply camo .. use /mask.. if u don't have it.. we will do what we can to protect u....
ghuillie suits... lol if it fails thats on the users behalf... if I have mastered the art of ghillie suit making, and I fail then how is it that I am a master??????? Take that into consideration eh!!!
now don't tell me its not supposed to be uber when NOBODY better then a master ranger applies camo and in less then 7min of travel camo on 7ppl is broken more then once.....how is that for not being uber.. I don't want to be able to walk up to anything an NEVER be noticed, I just totally dissagree with the way it works right now.. most ppl just tell me don't waste your time I will use /mask...how does that make a master ranger feel... NOT WORTH IT
traps, the only trap that is worth it is an AM cause I can +root+ a target, but then again a ranger is self sufficient right??? getting all he needs from what he takes??? so how is it that I am to get a polymer for my traps from a creature??? hmmm??!!!!!
This +creature to hit bonus... given to the higher (L3/4) skills of ranger.. why so that mastering the profession will make u THE BEST at what u do.. and what is that... kill creatures..!!!!! I never said I wanted to be a god as a ranger, I just wanted to be able to be THE BEST at what we do.... kill creatures.. and within all good reason.. I am not talking about a master ranger soloing everything out there... I mean we have to be in group but we should be able to have an additional bonus to creature killing to equal that of the outright power of a commando or BH. All professions should be, IF U MASTER IT, Uber in its own special way... that way nobody is better as a whole then anybody else... its just all how u go about it.

and as for the tag I wear novice scout, why becuase I am ashamed of my profession.... and I hate it when BHers EXPECT me to just drop what I am doing and go play 'lets track the bounty' when a BH can just as easily pick up ranger tracking.

Belts
make belts have pockets for weapons and traps so they don't cluter inventory, would make a belt worth something, other then looks
