Imagine:

You are on tatooine. Dusk is falling and you are camped at the top of the rise watchinga herd of banthas. You have been tracking the herd all afternoon, but the banthas are coming together into a protective clump for the night. You must wait until morning. As the suns slip away you hear the cry of a predator. Everyone in your camp huddles in close, and a sentry goes to the edge of the camp to watch for animals. The wind seems to be blowing strongly as you prepare to go to sleep, and it suddenly it grows into a raging sandstorm. Your hunting team pulls on helms and heavy clothing to ward off sand and the cold night air.

Later...

You are awoken by the noise of bellowing banthas. You run to the edge of the camp and see the banthas are moving restlessly. Suddenly, you see a pack of animals come towards the banthas. The banthas startle and begin to charge. You yell at everyone to get up, unsheathe your sword, and swing on to your mount. The banthas are drawing closer as your group rides away, but not fast enough to stop some of the nearest. As banthas crush the camp you rein your mount and throw a trap behind you. It explodes in a brilliant flash of light and noise, slowing the herd and allowing you time to escape, but it is dangerous to be out at night. Hunters abound, and not even the Sand People are out. You find a safe spot to wait for morning and construct a small camp.

Dawn...

Dangerous animals are going to sleep, and it is not to hot or cold, perfect travel time. You are preparing to mount up when a local farmer stumbles into your camp, bleeding. He gasps "Sand People...farm...must...help...family" and dies. You look up and see bantha riding tuskens tearing across the sand towards your camp. You mount up and charge to meet them, while your riflemans mount holds still while he snipes off of it. You hit the group of Tuskens swinging, your mounts kicking and biting. You then head off at a gallop towards the direction they came from, see a farm and thunder towards it. Near the farm, blaster shots can be heard. Suddenly they come at you. You cut the tuskens down, save the family, and return to the desert.

Maybe during night cycles the HAM bars on most creatures could elevate to a level that would make hunting much more dangerous at night.

Thanks chalrhynn

Maybe even a badge for the tusken thing...has saved a family from sand people. Would reward those who spent lots of time like it would have been spent in SW, slower traveling, sheltering from weather, ect.
