When night comes have more aggressive and stronger creatures come out and the weaker ones like the durnni go into hiding. This happens in real life as lions hunt at night so do sharks too. This would make the community use more camps during the night as they should be scared to go out at night as your radar would decrease in range so it would be harder to hunt. This would also encourage talk about what happened during the day. Craft crap and a time to heal and relax for a bit. As of right now day and night just makes it easy or hard to see the screen but the radar works normal.

Thats the best idea Ive heard in a long time. Add some real life content. Good going bro. It will also give rangers a group purpose and people will flock to us at night to have our camps shield them while resting and healing or what not.

But I get the feeling they don't care.

That's a great idea, but don't our camps have to REPEL the aggressive critter in the first place?

Or have they fixed that when I wasn't looking?

I want herds! I want big herds of Bantha roaming in areas of Tat. I want to see that if you get too close and spook them they aggro on you and trample you to incap or death. The occasional herd find would let hunters get the "farm" effect they are wanting but without the boring safety of it. You want to get alot of meat? You better earn it! Make hunting from mounts(creatures) in those situations more viable so we can do some specials but not all.

/me wants herds of Brackasets.

Good idea btw. I just dont think most people will run for the Ranger tent at night since it only last an hour or so anyway.

OMG, the Devs need to add this NOW. I would love to just follow a herd around. The animal AI can be great sometimes but the spawn points are too static to see much of it. If only you had moving spawn points for herds and predators that followed them. That would be soooo cool.

As for the day night cycle, that would be another nice touch. Maybe make it so that the normal lair creatures group together more while the hunter creatures spread out a bit. And, with herds, you could make for some really interesting effects.

both the night predator idea and the herd trample unless you are on mount idea are both

ROCKING COOL!!!

I LOVE BOTH OF THESE PROPOSALS

this game needs content bad and this would definately add group quality to rangers

and wouldnt it rock to see a stampeding herd of bantha and a hunting party of rangers all on creatures kinda reminds me of how indians hunted oh the ideas are soo cool this would rock calc should look at these

Hurrah! Great idea, i love my fellow rangers, additions that arn't only looking to increase the combat potential of your class. I love sitting round a camp fire at night, chatting about anything and everything, restores my faith in the community

Heres hoping!

When the camps are on the ground, make the the traps worth more instead of throwing the traps at the creatures place the traps on the ground around the camp and if a creature walks into the vicinity of the trap then it will go off. Traps are not meant to be thrown like a grenade, they should be used as more trap like.

Hmm. On the note of using Mounts in herd hunting wouldnt it be a bit more plausible to have a CH make a "battle trained" mount. Something that if CH is a Master Rifleman and teaches his mount to kneel and steady up you would have a chance of using /concealshot or Mindshot2. Horses back in the old days were taught to ignore gunshots and the smell of blood. Why not a Wasteland cu pa.

This would raise the uses for mounts in combat PvP even. Of course TKM wouldnt have much fun with them but still.

A friend and I tried a little mounted hunting the other day. I have to say it was a blast. It could have been better if we could use specials but we stil had fun.The hunting would boil down to tracking a group of aggro NPC's. Then I would ride in circles around groups of dune stalkers firing into the cluster as she, a fencer, would drive her bantha into the group slashing away like a civil war calvary soldier. Good times.

I like both of the suggestions about ch'S having to train a mount to be used in battle and the idea of moving heards and more aggressive creatures at night.
