Ok...I see where you guys are coming from with the CH having to spend skill points, however, I don't thinkit will bring our profession back as been indicated. Follow me in this, CH and Ranger branch from the Scouting profession, hence it should be ok to mix a little of CH and Ranger. Like I said I don't want to have a high level pet, I just think that we should be able to have something a little better than what an artisan has.

One other thing, if you truly believe that we don't deserve it because we didn't earn it somehow then we should immediately relinquish the Ranged and Melee defense we get at master. That we have no business having, we are neither brawlers nor marksmen, but we are attuned more to our environment, which includes animals. Of course qui pro quo if the CHs want to get a bonus to harvest by all means go for it, they should get something along the lines of +5/+10 in return.

I do not agree with giving Rangers higher than non CH pets. Just like I don't agree when CH says they should have the Ranger skill to see all the information on a critter. Just like I don't agree when any class says they should be able to have machines that "harvest" meat/hide/bone when you put a critter into it.

I pretty much disagree with any idea that makes the professions all the same. I enjoy the diversity and knowing that I will need to place my skill points carefully to get what I want out of them. And yes, I even enjoy the fact that no matter how careful I place them, I will not have enough to do everything I want/need by myself and will actually have to associate with other players/professions.

That's pretty much the point of an MMORPG isn't it?

If you have Master Ranger, Master Weapon (no ranged support) you would have enough points to boost your CH to above non-CH.

of course you wont have medic, warning shot, threaten shot....etc....

customize your template for how you play, and lets not try to take skills or modifiers that are soley in the realm of another profession.

I see that I am in the minority in this issue...but then with the righteous anger that you have towards it I say that we need to drop the Ranged Defense and Melee Defense.

What say you?

Do you purist not agree?

Post an argument on why we shouldn't have the the Rangedand Melee Def. I don't see why we shouldn't have them.

By the way wheres all the righteous anger you are seeing? If you think I am angry you are mistaken.

*edit* ahhh "purist". Am guessing that would be to the extreme where only people with unarmed skill would get any kind of Melee Def bonus, only people with Ranged skills would get any kind of Ranged Def bonus? That's surely not what I was suggesting.

I guess I disagree with your ultimatum then too. ie: I still don't think Ranger should get more than non CH pets without CH skills, but I also don't fit into your strange idea of a "purist"....Otherwise I would disagree with letting non CH have any creature pets, and I certainly don't take that stance.

There are some skills bonuses that are scattered around several or all professions, and some that are unique to that profession. I think CL11 and up critters should stay unique to CH.
