I didnt macro camp either. What I did(was halfway through Frontiering 3 at the time) was drop about 60k on resources and sit in my Field base and practice grind on Field Bases for 2 hours, switching camps every twenty minutes. Like I said, two hours and I went from halfway through Front 3 to Master Ranger. Good luck!

as the above poster also said, buy about 8k bone and hide, and maybe 4k copper to get you started. Buy 3 generic crafting stations. Set up one camp for 20 mins unless you have visitors. During that 20 minutes, craft more camps. at the end of the crafting session when you can make your item, on the left side there is a box that says practice. By selecting this box you will "practice" making the item, but wont actually get it in your inventory. This is nice because no one needs 100+ camps. You use 3 crafting tools because you can initialize each one after the other. So when you finish with one, start the next, then the next. by the time you are done with the third one, the first will be ready again so you can continue the pattern. Disband your camp every so often and put up another, and keep on clicking. I did 40k last night in 1 1/2 hours, just takes a bit of patience.

Forgive me for sounding really dumb but...

Build and place your camp, then whilst in your camp practise making more. Then disband after 20 mins if solo or less if grouped with people. And repeat process for 1 1/2 hours. or until you acheive your goal.

Does that increase the xp for your one camp you made for twenty mins. If so and you got 40k in 1 1/2 hours then that is 4/5 camps at 10k xp per camp? if you pratising making them inbetween.

If thats the case then brilliant i cant wait to get home and try, if not the i will agree i dont understand, what you are saying

my holocron told me to be master ranger 3 days ago, I will have it done tommorow morning. Camping xp is not hard if you have patience, time, and money. You do know you get xp for practicing camp making right??? If you have the cash, grab about 10k of each resource and go to town. I finished camping xp tonight, got the last 40k done in about 1 1/2 hours. I actually have a harder time getting scout xp than camp xp.

What he is saying is that you get 2x the resources used in XP for your camping. If you do it in practice mode you get an extra 5% or 10% for each one.

The reason you build a camp for 20 mins because you might as well get XP off of the time you are just sitting there grinding. So place a camp, but it has nothing to do with XP made by that camp.

Also, you should run a sampling macro while you're in camp if you have Surveying. With surveying 4, I get more resources than one of my heavy harvesters does in the same amount of time, with no maintenance or energy costs. Sell the resources and you more than pay for your cost of building camps. You can sample, craft, and camp all at the same time, you just get interrupted in your crafting every now and again when you try and do 2 things at exactly the same time.

Thats cool, i started camping last night and did it for about an 1 hour i finished off frontiering I and II but i run out of resources to do any more, went through it like hot cakes!

Well i am back to get some more resources now about 10k need for the last 2 skill slots and then back to the hard grind which i am guessing should take me 3 hrs more.

Wow to think camping xp can be got in 4/5 hrs flat if you have the the right stuff at the beginning

Im not a master ranger yet, but im a Ranger. To get trapping xp, I became a CH...got myself a wrix, waited till it was fully grown(4 days) and then crafted tons of traps. Went outside of AH in the mountains, and trapped mountain squill(500 xp per) and then sent my pet in to kill em while i overcharge shot it. I got trapping 3 and 4 in 2 days. Survival was the second to least tree i finished. Get in a big group like was mentioned, and set up camps. U max out camps in a few minutes. Or go solo a planet. Set up camps for hours...craft tons of camps...

I find that hunting large creatures, like Pikets (as I did tonight) on Dantooine, with about 4 people does quite the job. Usually one guy will die and be running back leaving you time to camp and heal. Or, you'll all get incapped and you set up a camp then to heal them again. Keeping at least 5 camps on hand is really helpful.

Otherwise, go out, do two missions and force yourself to camp for 10minutes at least. Go get something to eat.. that sort of thing. Go do two more missions, do it again. Watch some tv.. just moderate yourself.

The main portion of Camping is patience rather than neccessity. Quite frankly, a Master Ranger has the patience of a Jedi Knight after all that Wilderness XP.

Another tip is to forage while in your camp. This of course only works if you can heal yourself. Cuts the time in a solo camp from 20 to about 7 minutes.

Another really good spot for camping traffic is the bridge S of Theed. Pop at either end (or in the middle if you want a watery camp) and repop frequently if there is high traffic.

Another thing I've noticed is that there is no Z axis to camping. If someone passes over your camp it still registers.

I have a question though about camping and fishing. I can never go all the way to the water without leaving the radius of the camp. Even if I am up to my knees when I pop the camp, it does some quick terraforming and boom no fishing or I'm out of the camp. How did you do this?

im not sure anyone allreday suggested this, i have not read all posts.

1. you need a medic and one entertainer. (they both get great xp when healing your visitors)

2. go to a hard planet (not beginner) i would suggest lok, set up camp not far from starport or cloming center.

3. bring with you enough resources to craft as many camps as you need.

4. in camp medic and entertainer heal your visitors and you gain camping xp

(if its visited well you max each camp in5 - 10 minutes)

all services should be free, but of course medic and entertainer accept tips when given.

Setup a camp on either side of the long bridge in Theed, while in your camp make practice camps. With people running through your camp you can usually drop it 5mins or so after setup & get full xp (may be longer with rangar camps, I just did it for scout)

Ok, i just wanted to post an update to this thread with what I have noticed. After laboring through the first 2 levels of Wildnerness, I finally made it up to base camps. I have already finished the other 3 trees with extreme ease, and was dreading the 100k of camping xp i still needed to get to master ranger. Anyways, on advice of you guys I laid down a base, and just start grinding away crafting up base camps. At a 100xp per, I was a little skeptical on how long it would take especially with my pure hatrid for crafting (lol)... anyways, I noticed after maybe a couple hours of off and on grinding, I had already gotten the 40k xp needed for wilderness 3!! I really wasnt power grinding, and didnt do it non-stop but it did go surprisingly fast.

I just thought I would share this with those still trying to figure out how to get through this tree. Like the advice I had gotten, just sit in your camp and craft away on practice mode, because it really does go pretty fast, and I should have master now by end of weekend. Thanks for the help guys
