As a whole I have the highest regard for Rangers. But you seem to be denting this a bit. Plz stop being an idiot.

Here's an idea, you have high regards for Rangers, then stop poluting our boards with mindless drivel..oh, wait, forgot your a BH and incapable of doing that.

Stay on your board, they made it just to keep the BH's away from the rest of the population, sparing us from having to deal with you.

JB, keep on bashing man, I'm with you (untill I meet a BH that changes my mind) on this issue.

P.S. Perhaps BH's evolved from Rasps? Or maybe the Rasps devolved into BH's? I can't decide

I second the motion...motion passes...

BH's and Rangers will get along as soon as BH's get something rattling round in their head besides rocks

Originally I came to your boards with a request for Aid to our mutual benefit. I am very disapointed to find the level of negative response from some of the Rangers.

I have always considered Rangers to be one of the most respected & honourable classes. As I recall from my Ranger days you even havethe ability to agro the creature onto yourself thus preventing harm to your friends.

If you do not wish to help then thats fine. But please do not turn this into an anti-Bounty Hunter crusade.

Gentlemen and Ladies -

Enough is enough, let us stop beating on our cousins, the Bounty Hunters.

They are in a class to themselves. They are our cousins, as we share Master Scout with them. Until the Devs remove that requirement and replace it with something more appropriate (such as Brawler, which makes more sense in a manhunter class), we will have to learn to get along.

This is not a total capitulation. More like an armed truce. They do their thing, I do mine, and when they get in the way, too bad for them.

Case in point, I am taking down some avian for a friend. In rides the BH with his Lightning cannon and commences to shoot at "my targets". Ok, no problem, I have range on him, and as the flyers tended to fly off, I got em at distance, ran and harvested (one of my very few macros), and helped take down the rest. I thanked the BH for his help, as he harvested next to nothing, and I left. No swearing, no wisecracks. He continued to follow me, and golly, I somehow managed to make a rancor mad.As the BH was not maskscented, he got to play with the rancor bull, and his 3 friends, while the old crabby Ranger burst ran out of the area. Not a pretty sight, they even ate his swoop.

So be nice to the BHs. If they want your services, make sure you are justly compensated for them. I start at 25k per hour, or any part thereof. I will not track players, period. CHs don't use me much either, wonder why??

regards

JB

He didn't actually try to hit the Bull Rancor with the LLC wondering why he does so low damage ?
(I had that experience yesterday night )

This is just getting intresting, don't know where the hate to the BH comes to. Maybe because they think: we kill everything we come accross with our llc, think they forgetting the flamethrower of commando. But for the rest i have nothing against them, except they mostly lack the knowledge of strategy. And if they are BH they have mastered scout why don't they take Ranger for the areatrack instead of asking our help? (another lack of strategy knowlegde ) I only track players with areatrack if i loose my party because i staid behind to tame a little baby

And warn me beforehand if there is going to be a fight, post the server and time so i can create a char there to come and watch

See, that's one of the bountyhunter's misconceptions .

You DON'T kill everything with the LLC (see example above ).

I'm sorry if we offended you. This thread was supposed to be in jest. Or so I thought. I have a few BH friends and I do help them. I have helped reasonable requests for helping with marks, and refused payment.

Unfortunatly if a profession gets to be Flavor of the Month it will get overwelmed with immature folk that will steriotype the class if it is favored too long. It would happen to us if we was ever to become FotM.

Also understand quite a few of us (if you exclude the holo-chasers) RP. That might mean at least half will be of the "help the Jedi" variety so you might expect a few not happy that you hunt them. There are Imp rangers that will, however.

You do have to admit, a MR, gimped in combat, beating a BH, not really as gimped, is "unusual". The unexpected is one basis of humor.

Truce?

[Edit: Ican't believe Ispelled it as "resonable"?? ick...]

I do the bounty hunter thing because I enjoy hunting bounties from the mission terms, I enjoy the weaponry and I enjoy the clase. I haven't hunted any Jedi, but if I get a NPC jedi mission from the terms I would probably have no problems doing so. I don't PvP so I would not likely consider taking a player jedi mission, even with the high payouts because I make more money as a ranger than as a BH.

A good night hunting resources with friends as a ranger nets me more income than a single player bounty would.. with far fewer hassles and I know where the targets are... we take missions for creatures and go out and harvest... a player jedi bounty would not be as efficient or as fun in my opinion since I didn't get into the game to prey upon other players.

Working with the Rangers of Bria has been one of my more enjoyable times in the game, efficent, capable, fun, etc, etc, etc.... working as a bounty hunter is fun as well since I dont want to do JUST resourse harvesting... it's called a change of pace..

So yes, even though I have tracking 4 right now I have only used it on players for similar reasons as you, to find my party when we get seperated...

The hatred of BH's that is apparant in many here would be better directed, in my opinion, on those who abuse what ranger is about, and not against those of us who understand the underlying truth about all this.. .that this is just a game and we are here to have fun.

But thats my opinion

Ariven,

I realy know there are much immature players, or players that don't know the meaning of roleplay (most of the hologrinders). And they take some popular professions, and i think ranger isn't one of them (maybe lucky for us rangers). And those people get the profession a bad name, but there are also the opposite of those and they are, IMO a bit overwhelmed with the others. It is tough to be a BH or other popular prof and always see yours prof to get the prof a bad name. I have respect for your oppinion, just keep it up.

Guys,

You're really giving the BHs a hard time here...

...which means that this taking away time from giving the CHs a hard time. Get back to work!
