Thread: Is there a place for jedi rangers?

I am currently doing the Village quests with the hopes of being a Master Ranger/Lighsaber 0/0/4/4/medic ?/?/?/?.
I may be shooting myself in the foot by dropping all my pistoleer defenses, but I don't PvP and was hoping the Lightsaber skills would deflect most incoming balster bolts and do enough damage to creatures to kill them before I went down. Not being able to wear armor as a Jedi ins't a problem for me, since I don't wear it now.
JB, the old jedi system required you to dump 250 SP into novice box, the new way allows you to be a Jedi dabbler!
As an aside, I think the Ranger forum is the most adult, thought provoking forum out there.

As far as I can tell, Jedi Initiate and Jedi Padawan require completion of quests to attain 24 FS skill boxes (requiring 24 SP) and the Padawan trials. From here you have 226 SP to play with. Remove 140 SPfor Master Ranger and do what you will with the rest of your SP! Initiate and Padawan boxes do NOT require SP, only the FS skill boxes (1 SP each).

Yep, and the reason why armor and weapons take a while to switch out. The robe has to be worn to whip out the glowy thingy and they were afraid that the dabblers would be too "god-like" to be able to /headshot3 till you closed and "presto" a Jedi in melee range.

You can be a Jedi/Master Ranger...
However, you need at least 24 boxes into FS skills so you can enter the Padawan Trials. You probably can drop them once you get pass the trials, but I'm not sure.
Then, you need to have spent a considerable ammount of skill points in the jedi lines... I'm thinking 225, but I could be wrong.
I have tracked the Jedi Knight trials mobs for several Jedi, and I was amazed at how fragile they were, even with so many skill points spent in Jedi. So, even if I used to consider picking up Jedi as my "combat profession" to acompany Ranger, I'm not really sure I will... considering the insane ammount of xp needed, the visibility aggravation, failure to follow continuity, how fragile they seem unless they are knights, etc. Might go through the Padawan trials just for the whole experience of doing it, and to unlock my 2nd char slot. But don't think I'll go any further.

Hey thanks for all the responses guys and keep em coming. just wanted everyone to know that im a ranger through and through and not just in it for the chicks 
I am, however, old enough to have seen the original movie in the theater when i was about 6 and since then all i ever wanted to be was a jedi so please dont hate on me for working toward that goal. I agree with most of your arguments about jedi being the perpetual pet project of the devs to the point of total disregard for any other voice in the galaxy but in the immortal words of the sagacious snoop dogg: dont hate the player, hate the game.
Anyway keep up the good work on these forums guys, fight the good fight, and keep those cards and letters rolling in. I promise ill be right there beside u rangering till the day i die. even if i gotta wear jedi jammies to do it

Hey J'onn,
I thought that the "Hot Chicks for Rangers Program" was nerfed with publish 10. Don't the Jedi get them all now?

I've been toying with this idea as well. I figured we won't know how it work until someone tries it. So I figure if those of us who are going to try it keep updating each other and the rest of the ranger folks here, We'll all have an idea of how it works soon.
