With another toon I was a swordsman for a year ... I agree its probably better ... but I want to try something different. The meditation line is nice too because I want to do survey 4 and put up a vendor and tka allows me to skip medic.

helps a lot, indeed, thanks for the feedback, allways did wonder why there where harvesting droids when u could just take your filet knofe and do the job much faster 
)

There was a huge discussion a while back about how the droid bonuses work. A 103 droid doesn't harvest at 103%. In fact it harvests a good deal more than that. But it is a modifier to YOUR skill.....AND....it stacks with veghash.
Give it a shot yourself. I know I had to to believe it. Take a droid, anything +90 or better, and go hunting. Harvest it by yourself, no veghash. Then kill another of the exact same type from the same lair, this time use the droid. The droid will harvest more than you will. NOW....repeat again and take veghash before you use the droid to harvest. You will get even MORE off the corpse. And as long as you don't group your droid, they generally don't get aggroed; which is a very good thing.
The droid just works like a modifier to your creature harvesting skill. I am not entirely sure how to read their ratings to determine how much of a gain there is, but there was a thread about this - that I cant find - where tests were done. Apparently the break-even point was around +80 or so, and any droid rated above that would harvest more than you would on your own. And it does modify your skill, as the same droid with a novice scout will harvest far less than if a Ranger used the same droid. This also explains why it stacks with veghash. I am not sure if there is a ceiling or not, but I have a +117 droid that does harvest more than my old +105 droid that I gave away.
Just thought this would help. Personally I hate the droids because they move too slow and run away if they get aggroed. Yes, my droid can pull anywhere from 15-20% more out of a creature than I can, but dammit....its a pain to use them. Maybe I am just not a droid guy, because there are a LOT of people that use them. I havent given up entirely, mainly because I paid a mint for this +117 rated droid. LOL. Maybe I just need practice on how to use him correctly.

Actually, I have a really good use for harvesting droids. When I'm out solo-grouping (which I hate doing, but its 'the' standard anymore. Hopefully the Combat Rebalance ends this), I sometimes don't always get to harvest a creature because I end up aggroed by another one before I can harvest.
Have out your harvesting droid, but don't group it. While you kill stuff, let it do the harvesting for you. Then the corpses don't disappear on you. Nothing more annoying than a level 40 corpse with high quality meat disappearing before you can harvest it because something aggroed you.
