Seriously, /track, the extra crawl speed (as a rifle man), the harvesting bonus and the rarity an community make Rangerthe rightprofession to me.

What are you GLAD you can do now.

There HAS to be something!

  1. The way other players (more for for the vets) view Rangers. Usually alway a nice /nod or pleasant conversation.

  2. HTFBK - Even with the force field borked. The regen rate is great for healing wounds as there are a lack of Entertainers around (as least on Scylla outside of theed and coronet)

  3. TRAPS - stacking up some states really help in taking high level creatures, defence down, stun, etc.

  4. TRACKING - My loathing of mission terminals makes this a great skill

  5. HARVESTING - nuff said

  6. TN - Love the speed in the mountains, Rancors are so slow and I RULE at pub crawls now (prone racing)

  7. CAMO - Took a new alt of a good friend out a few days ago, saved the day.

  8. The community and the boards here.

You hear about Role Playing very often with Rangers. I ask you, What is SWG but a MMPORPG? The fact that our profession excells at that makes this a must have IMHO in the game. I think that many time we sell that aspect of it short, and when being a Ranger adds to this from within and from the way other players intereact with you and that is I went Ranger for good

Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've
seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me
believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. There's
no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.

I love hunting with no armor on except my Ranger Duster andMask Scentand have people ask me if I want armor.

I answer, "No, I don't need armor, I'm a Ranger."

They walk away puzzled and confused

Oh, and the people.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Proud moments in my life as a ranger:

1: getting custom armor with my name on it
2: my favorite chef naming his harvesting droid "draknev" out of protest and solidarity for rangers
3: when i dropped ranger to go merchant, more than one person said, "wow, hell has frozen over"
4: the constant tells, emails i get asking me when im going back.

Pulling one beast at a time from a lair, and watching the hard core combat types not able to do it

Harvesting more of whatever than anyone else, even without veghash

Never wearing armor, and not needing to

Getting asked to /areatrack, and getting lucky and finding the right beast in one shot

Running up hills faster than the speeders

Asking for and getting outrageous sums of credits for organics that are way too easy to get

And Finally - the best thing about being a Ranger is not having to read the BH forum

JB

oh wait, Hating rasps, kreetles and BHs has to be in there someplace.

Proud moments in Ranger History: Phenix, rambling and drunk (you are stunned! you feel dizzy! you are having trouble seeing clearly! you're bleeding! (?!?)) utters the phrase "Ranger is a Lifestyle, not a Proffession."

Soon, it is uttered everywhere. People put it in there sigs. It become the Ranger battle cry. There is a Sugar Ray song entitled "Ranger is a Lifestyle". Microsoft buys the gaming rights and Miramax buys the rights to the movie.

Before long the devs will catch wind of it, and bring it to TH. TH will look at it and go "hmm, okay, if it's not a proffession, we don't have to do any work on it. Next up: the chubba count around some of the cities is WAY to small. We need to have at least 1/2 of the 1000 mobs per server be comprised of chubbas and worrts. Also, we need some new art for the chubba death sequence and we still haven't been able to calculate what exactly those Rangers mean by "monkey making". These are BIG ISSUES, people! Let's GO!

erm...maybe that wasn't such a proud moment.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.
