Thread: So you don't think the 30k resource deeds are a bad thing?

IT'S A ONE TIME DEAL!!!

Not only is the reource gift a one time shot, yoiu have to compete with those that pck the miniatures. Even though you could pick the resource stack at 1 year, you have a lot of competition with the decay kits.

You have some good resources now? Hold on to them. Sit on them for another week or two until the stacks die down. You'll be able to sell them again.

I would wait a month or two and then try to sell the 30k reward. AragornSoS really good suggestions for everyone here except for some of the blue glowies who have already been there, pitched a tent, and used some of the leaves for toilet paper.

I'd rather have something that lasts longer than 30k resources or just the money for it. So that means the minatures or whatever else and the decay kits. I wouldn't waste my time for a temporary boost. Thats why i have a bunch of stuff in my houses that i could sell for a lot. I'd rather have my nifty stuff than credits....which i would most likely spend on more nifty stuff.

Personally I would grab the resources, and hold on to them, but I digress...

You are missing the point...at least my point that is. I'm not complainging about being broke, not in the least. I'm questioning what the devs were thinking when they did this. And I feel everyone who plays this game, Rangers specifically, should too. They had to know it would have the effect it did, which leads you to ask, what do they have in store for Rangers? Why would they take away our main tie to the bulk of the server society. This alienates our profession if even for a short time. Ask yourself why they do that. To help doctors? I hope not. The question is whether they did it on purpose, or whether it was a mistake on their part. Both are a tad disturbing. I like being a Ranger, but I gotta ask, are they attempting to phase us out, or just make us even more useless to the game?

Now, with that said, I'm not the drama queen that this post would have you believe. AllI am saying, is maybe we should start asking the right questions to the right people.

I initally thought the devs had some sense and the deeds would only work on CURRENT resources and that antidecay kits would not go on GUNS and that they would only matter at DEATH and not USE.

What a total care-bear mess they made out of the market. Ya that uber spawn that died early 1 year ago that you worked your tail off on to make your resource collection special ... now any joker can just burn a deed on it like they were calling the Domino's Pizza delivery man ... oh ya and 1 out of 10 galaxies will have "Dathomir Wooly" as the best ever wooly.

Need scouts to check the current resources? Not any more. Now anyone can just use these deeds to check the stats of any current reosource in the galaxy. AlthoughI admit it is nice to only take 3 minutes to know all the stats in the galaxy for any particular resource.

As someone mentioned a few posts up just stop playing like you used to and become a noob, have crawl races and act like nothing matters and make cute and cuddly posts about Owen Lars or something to pass the time ... ya right.

Coming soon: Anti-Fill deeds ... throw one of these on a veghash and never have to buy veghash ever agian! And also deeds for a free set of 90% base armor! Wouldnt that be lovely ? ... for the individual not the game. Lets get a group together later with our 800 max damage non-decaying T21's and 120% harvest bonus and get 2 million dath leathery hide in a buff session and try to sell it for 1 cpu but then have to lower the price to .5 cpu

My main buyer ... he doesn't buy anything from me any more ... he only wants to buy more and more resource deeds. These things are like crack cocaine.

What these deeds are is legalized duping plain and simple .. something they used to ban people for now they give it out as a reward. Counterfeit resources are as good for the economy as counterfeit money. Slap an ADK on your best gun and screw over your local weaponsmith too is another "reward".

Ouch man, I thought I was bitter.

The devs did it as a reward for veterans. I highly doubt there was anything sinister about it. Speaking as a doc crafter, I can assure you that the 30k stacks will have no effect on how much we need hunters. The demand for meats and hides will be determined by the same factors that have always controlled it; the stats of the resources, and the length of time since the last good spawn. When I'm crafting full-tilt, 30k of meat is gone in a day or two. If a good spawn of avian or herb meat popped up tonight on my server, I would pay the same price that I've been paying for months.

The 30K resource actually helped me get through part of ranger. I used my resource deed to get 30K of bone (No one was selling that much bone for anything I could afford) and then I bought all the hide I needed off a ranger vendor, then I used those recources to level up to frontiering 4 (ATK, not AFK like some.) I didnt sell mine, I used itto to help me get better at ranger. And with the stuff thats left over, I can make a LOT of camps.

However, I see people selling the resource deeds for 1 million credits in the coro starport, offering high priced items in trade, and stuff like that. Doc prices havent gone down, but the ranger community hasnt been killed on my server that Ive heard either. Of course, we have more we do than just harv meat/hide. We hire ourselves out to jedi doing the trials to find their objectives (And we do it for a good chunk of cash per critter found), we also hire out to other people to find things for them that they need (CH are always looking for rare pets, I know part of the reason I picked up Ranger was to help me find a pet I want)

I'm not saying you dont have it hard (I think the attitude the Scout correspondent is copping is completely uncalled for in a professional) but I'm saying that you can try to be creative in how you make money. If the docs on your server are being idiots, and not buying meat, then find a jedi that needs to do the quests and offer to find the stuff he needs. Or go to the CH boards and offer your services to find rare pets. And eventually, most of the resource deeds will go away (Its a one time use only item, remember?) and people will need us again.

JB's attitude is legendary. Hes done a lot of work to relax, calm down and be professional but every so often the old him sneaks out and says hello. We all just grin and bear it because we have one of the most unusual and unique correspondents in game.

No, but he is aleader of the community. He should be held to at least slightly higher standards. I feel the same way about myself. You don't know how many posts I DIDN'T make becuase I knew that as a leader of the community, I had to hold myself to a higher standard.

Allowing someone to be cranky becuase they just 'are' and flaming others for their crankiness is hypocritical (I am not referring to JB in this instance).
