Thread: So you don't think the 30k resource deeds are a bad thing?

Maybe I just need some comfort, someone to say it will all get better in time. But I don't know. On my server people are selling these deeds on the boards for less than 3 million. Thats under 100 cpu for the best avian or wooly to ever spawn. (glad i sold all mine before this abomination.) but how does this affect other meats and hides? nobody wants to pay what were market prices last week for quality stuff, because everyone is whoring out these deeds, they are everywhere. why spend 75 cpu on this really good meat, when i can get the best meat ever at the same price? i know, there is a limited supply. i guess. there will always be more of these on the market, as new people get to 6 months. i mean, i had a guy offer 6 cpu for some really good dath insect today. 6 cpu? i could run durni missions in coronet and make more money. bah, im sorry to vent guys, i just need some sleep. i'll feel better in the morning.

I feel the same way. Honestly, the profession that this helped the most was the only profession in SWG that needed no help (doctors). On my server, the biggest doctor dealer out there actually had the gaul to raise his rates now that he is getting the meat at less then a third of the price he was spending a week beforehand. Personally, if you ask me (and you have jtl), if you're not making 30 cpu for an average drop of 100 units per kill, you can make more in space, or a number of other things. Which makes the Ranger profession even less useful.

ok, 30k of resources is not quite 2 factory runs for a doctor.

Most docs on my server were buying upwards of 300k of avian at 250cpu recently.

30k is a lot for a hunter, ain't squat for someone with a factory.

Well I will admit for the last few weeks on Tempest anyway no one is offering to buy anything like prior to the deeds. Before them I had work to do every day if I wanted now I'm laid off and just waiting for the next job to come around.

It seems like a problem now because they are flooding the market, in time it will die down. Sure there will still be deeds coming into existence, but only a few every now and again, and most crafters will still require a lot more to keep up with production. It is a short term hit, but it will die down, just give it time.

Yup, it'll die down. So while nobody is buying *currently*, here's some stuff to keep you busy:

  • Do the things like the Mat Rags quest, Kryat skull quest, Tat food quest

  • Run some of the racetracks for fun (or badges!)

  • Have a crawl race

  • Go to TC-Gorath and help with testing for the proposed harvesting "bonus" changes

  • If you have a good spawn of something on your server, harvest it. Sooner or later, someone is gonna buy. Be a smart Ranger and stock up now.

  • Got Glowy? If not, get out and get some badges! No time like the present to run the Vette, hit the Warren, or see the Galaxy

  • No time like the present to grind faction points - with the pending changes to the GCW, pick a side - ANY side.

  • Find a noob. Show him/her how to hunt properly. Set them on the True Path to Rangerhood

I haven;t seen a real difference on Kettemoor. A large number of these deeds are being used by Jedi and crafters for lightsaber stuff and the best resources for Weapons.

Of course it's going to come back down, but the point is....why? Why would they do something like that that would only benefit the richest of professions on in the game? One of the only things that rangers have, in respect to the game's society, is their ability to harvest well....why would they take that away if even for a short time? Leads me to believe they are either not thinking whatsoever about what they are doing, or that they have other plans.../shrug, just talking out loud I guess.

I feel ya. I'm sitting on a 12k stack of 956 oq 952 pe avian and can't get rid of it. I put it up for auction starting at 50 cpu and still nothing. My character is broke as hell too and needs a new chest piece. I hate missions so I never do them. Selling wild spawn resources is my job and right now I feel like I'm being fired.

I initally thought the devs had some sense and the deeds would only work on CURRENT resources and that antidecay kits would not go on GUNS and that they would only matter at DEATH and not USE.

What a total care-bear mess they made out of the market. Ya that uber spawn that died early 1 year ago that you worked your tail off on to make your resource collection special ... now any joker can just burn a deed on it like they were calling the Domino's Pizza delivery man ... oh ya and 1 out of 10 galaxies will have "Dathomir Wooly" as the best ever wooly.

Need scouts to check the current resources? Not any more. Now anyone can just use these deeds to check the stats of any current reosource in the galaxy. AlthoughI admit it is nice to only take 3 minutes to know all the stats in the galaxy for any particular resource.

As someone mentioned a few posts up just stop playing like you used to and become a noob, have crawl races and act like nothing matters and make cute and cuddly posts about Owen Lars or something to pass the time ... ya right.

Coming soon: Anti-Fill deeds ... throw one of these on a veghash and never have to buy veghash ever agian! And also deeds for a free set of 90% base armor! Wouldnt that be lovely ? ... for the individual not the game. Lets get a group together later with our 800 max damage non-decaying T21's and 120% harvest bonus and get 2 million dath leathery hide in a buff session and try to sell it for 1 cpu but then have to lower the price to .5 cpu

My main buyer ... he doesn't buy anything from me any more ... he only wants to buy more and more resource deeds. These things are like crack cocaine.

What these deeds are is legalized duping plain and simple .. something they used to ban people for now they give it out as a reward. Counterfeit resources are as good for the economy as counterfeit money. Slap an ADK on your best gun and screw over your local weaponsmith too is another "reward".

Wow, all these broke people?

What in the hell do you do with your time? Sit around starports and bemoan the fact you are poor and destitute? Should we institute Welfare for your sorry azzes? Wait, could this be a slice of the real world infiltrating the game - it's called a work ethic.

I do not depend on "buyers" for credits. The fact that I can sell what I harvest is fine, but if the entire economy changed tomorrow and no sales were allowed, I would still be making money. Run missions instead of whining. No, you will not make 1 million creds in 3 hours, but you will make creds. Beats whining about one time gifts that take quite some time to occur and then go away. Yes there is a glut now, and in two weeks there won't be. Get over it.

I guess the entire post about running fun missions, doing quests, getting glowy, etc. was missed. Maybe your server is totally ganked up and the only way anyone is getting resources right now is through the 30k gifts. I sorta doubt that.

If you are a Ranger and you're credit poor, time for you to take a small class on economics and realize you are broke, it ain't the game.

Never said I was broke. just don't want to see my profession hurt in the future cause the devs decided to give away for free what we have to work for. Personally, I don't like running missions too much, I do occassionally, but it just doesn't feel much like hunting when I have a waypoint telling me exactly where to go...feels more like pest control, which if you read the mission text, thats what it usually is. As for the other things to do, already done the Hermit quest, seen all the POIs, been visited by an old man but couldn't care less about this village, tried to find the loot to build a creature recycler but i don't like "hunting" npcs so that didn't last long, so now I'm out hunting for rare babies (gps and the like.) its nice, just want to make sure i can get back to work eventually.
