meh civil war
pff pff ptooo!
Logged in today, levelled up in Rifles after freeing up some SP's, found that moist old farmer. Headed to Eisley and hung up with the uber kids who were plotting the overthrow of the nearest anything they could shoot at. Lots of ATST's around for a Rebel town, bit odd.
Anyhow, got fired on by some ST's that were noising up the AFK dancers in the 'tina (my, how we laughed) Got some lovely wepons XP from that and then headed home to Espa. Woot!! It's a rebel town too... for now.
Did a bit of buying and selling there, headed out to the house to get an ADK for my rifle.
JUST got out of town when BANG am on my back admiring the sky. "Gosh, what was that" is as close to what I said as you'll read here. There's some scab infested bothan police standing waiting on me getting up so they can shoot me again. Getting bored with the incap timer they start on my bike...
Ah, see, I might be combatant and only a target for the Empire's plastic sodjers, but I forgot that I've got lousy townspeople faction and the plod are townies.
Ah well, time to go on leave and hunt thugs till and safe again. Meh, dumb stupid war...
Hunting? I was too busy being dead!

nope. Theed is not the Imp Stronghold on Naboo. Deeja Peak is Imp Strong hold. Here is from patch notes:

Planetary Occupation System
The players' actions in the Galactic Civil War (GCW) will be reflected in the 'Occupation!' enhancement. The guards patrolling cities and the symbols of power in the cities will change based on who is winning the GCW on that planet. As the tide of the GCW shifts so too shall the planets!
Tracking
The system will track the status of the GCW for each individual planet. Players can affect the status of the GCW through placing factional bases, both PVP and PVE. The longer a base remains in the world the more it benefits the faction. PVP bases count far greater than PVE bases. Initially Tatooine, Corellia, and Naboo will be affected by this system.
Two cities on each of these planets will never change faction. These are the stronghold cities. Anchorhead, Vreni Island, and Moenia will always be Rebel. Bestine, Bela Vistal, and Deeja Peak will always be Imperial.
Based on who is winning the factional conflict per planet, faction point costs and the faction presence in cities will change. The system will continually check the status of the GCW and determine city allegiance as control shifts.
City Patrols & Scans
The non-stronghold cities located on Tatooine, Corellia, and Naboo will be patrolled by the faction that controls the planet. Cities will also have patrols of neutral police, regardless of the planetary controller. For example, if the Imperials are winning the GCW on Corellia, Tyrena will be patrolled by Imperial soldiers as well as CorSec.
The neutral police forces are loyal to the faction that controls the planet and some will conduct scans of passers by. The police will be searching for contraband such as illegal spices and sliced weapons (regardless of faction) or enemy faction players (Rebel or Imperial) and will fine or attack as appropriate. Running away from a scan will continue to have the same effects (loss of faction). High ranking members of factional armies will be safe from scans if their faction controls that planet.

You mean there's a chance that Rebels can loose Dearic on Talus? I can't let this happen.

I live near Dearic on Talus. No flags at all, no Imps, no Rebs - just stupid Fed-Dub.
Now explain how there are twoSTs standing under the rebel banners in Theed next to the Rebel rifleman??
Bah - I am staying on leave

JBMat when a city switches sides, that side still needs to clean out all the enemy npc in that city. So in Theed you saw that the rebs took the city, but the players have not cleaned out the city of former enemey npcs.

You forget that there is (maybe now, was) a rebel recruiter in both the capital building and the cantina. In my humble opinion that makes Dearic a de facto Rebel city.
