All personal... but what the hay..

Discovering that P-Darts where working too well with Dariane on TC-CU, leaving the game for months and coming back to them having not changed one bit.

The first time I saw the "being stalked" message. If it was in the FAQs I missed it, it was a total suprise and really made me feel like a Ranger.

My first message on the Ranger forums. I got a bit chewed out, and then it went OT right away.

Though I've been lurking lately, I was once really active on these forums.

My best Ranger memories...

-Setting up my first Field Base Kit in Anchorhead, only to have a M Ranger set up a HTFB. We drew the entire crowd from AH to our camps in under 5 minutes.

-Foraging for foods to feed my pets before going into big battles

-Soloing my first Krayt, Gorax and Kimo (All within 3 days too)

-Being able to truthfully say I have explored every planet (on foot mostly too) that Galaxies has to offer. I have seen the highest and lowest points, I have seen sunsets, sunrises, and I have hunted every creature on those planets.

-Making my first million credits off a hide contract

-Hunting with 3 other Rangers and hauling in loads of hides for my Armorsmith

-The semi-weekly tells I get of "You're a Ranger? Those still exist?"

-The long grind up from Nov Scout to M Ranger. Hunting Nunas in Theed, making bone armor for money, and then buying Scout skills. And the night I finally got M Ranger. 1.5 hours of camping that night for 70k xp. I had most of the guild in my camp. That was a great social experience.

-Setting up my hunting lodge on Talus and taking "control" of the planet for the Rangers

-Sadly surrenduring the last of my Ranger skills for Jedi on my main, Rhyeal. BUT, also grinding back up to M Ranger on my alt, Egone, within 2 weeks.

-Meeting all those great Rangers that have ever graced Radiant with their presence since Launch Day and being proud to know I am one of them.

Rangers, its been a long uphill battle for a revamp. We won, we got it. But remember this: Just because they change the entire game, the world stays the same. The same for us to explore, no matter what class we are. And I for one will always be a Master Ranger.

Things I'll remember...

Stumbling into the ranger forums.

The first time I ticked off JB.

The first time I got my Master Ranger tag

The first riceball flung in my direction.

The second time I got my Master Ranger tag

Learning that bothans absorb thier alcohol through thier skin.

HotPants

The second time I ticked off JB

Owen's appearence in Tigg's Toon.

Getting together with all you knucklehedz on TC to try out the CU

Mostly I'll remember just all the good times we had in our forum. I will miss you all. If you get a chance to try out WoW, look for Pesoj on the Shadow Moon server.

I think everyone remembers the first time they ticked of JB.

I think everyone also remembers the first time they warned someone that they were about to tick of JB.

I also think everyone remembers the first time they prayed for the poor **edit** who had just ticked off JB.

JB rules!

My greatest moments:

-Putting on my headphones for the first time and hearing the opening music.

-ReachingNovice Ranger

-Walking thru Durbin on Talus, hearing a load roar, and ending up dying

-Reaching Master Ranger

-Meeting everyone at the first GRM

-Being a part of Xplorer Corps with Reyune

-Coming soon......knowing that I have never dropped a skill point in the Ranger profession when the sun sets on us for the last time.

Popping my first HTFB and having half my guild about fall over dead.

Training our current correspondent and one of my best friends to Master Ranger, and all of our hunting excursions.

Never ticking JB off. (at least that I know of)

Watching JB say he'd never be a correspondent after N'Raas left, and then seeing him set a World Record for shortest lived corresponndent with the Scouts.

Working with Drak, Calc, Phenix, Owen, Nem0, Paks, N'Raasand others on the greatest proposal ever written for any profession, The Outdoorsman.

Riceballs, punchbowls, Ranger Hats, and haw******

Actually sitting down and talking intelligently with Calc about some issues and clearing the air

The Ranger Forums in general and the friends I've made here especially the Lowca Rangers, Draknev, Shubacca, Makau and the other original Lowca Antarian Rangers.

Hi everyone.. Toepick is my master ranger, I've had him nearly as long as my main character, Gamin, and he has been my longest running proffesion and my favorite character to play..I have played him the most feeding the needs of my doctor/CM, armorsmith or helping any of my friends and guildmates.. He was a TKM Ranger at first, and then Rifles. I havn't posted too much in the forums, on any of them really...but I am an avid reader and sometimes I think I read the forums more then I play the game...especially lateley LoL

I have many fond memories, and a few great screenies of Toepick throughout his career.. but I think the funniest, and most satisfying, was during the pdart days when you could pretty much freeze anything and then chip away at it... I was on the ground fireing away on a Kryat Dragon when a Jedi and his co-hort came up to me..he stood there for a minute, finaly he said.. "you know fighting cloaked is exploiting" (or something like that)..

I laughed...and said, "i'm not a jedi",

to which he replied, "well only jedi can kill these."

"Oh? Well maybe Jedi isn't all that after all", he took some whacks at it with me trying to out damage it.. I ended up with the loot (don't think it was anything special)

My other favorite thing was joining up with someone out there that wanted to hunt with me.. he brought out his bike and I laughed, headed right up into the hills, after a minute when he was nowhere around, and I was standing on a high peek looking for him on his speeder... /g whats take'n ya so long?? LOL

I will miss being in a profession that not many people were in.. Ranger wasn't a great PvP'er, wasn't even that great most of the time against alot of NPC's.. but we could hunt and out run just about anything in the terrain...and when there was a good creature resource and you showed up with your tag showing, you were very much appreciated

so my FAVORITE moment in game was my second trip to the DWB with 2 groups of BHs and Jedi and one ranger (me) and about 3-4 rooms down the spawns wouldnt stop and 2 full groups of ppl got wiped out but i managed to burstrun out and survive

my favorite FORUM moment was the great nightsister milking stories and of course the hawtpants wars even tho i think i was on the hawtpants side

anyways im gonna miss u guys i do not plan on staying in game so i guess this is one ranger where the light will be put out for good

/salute its been a great 2 years of ranger madness u guys keep the legacy going!

In no particular order:

1) Getting Master Ranger and actually feeling as if I had accomplished something

2) Having a jedi ask me to help him track down Gorax and finding one for him (my second day as Master Ranger - I had no idea what a Gorax was before)

3) Tracking Gorax myself after the Jedi left to sell his shards, having one warp 30m behind me, and solo killing the furry beast (no loot, but I didn't care)

4) Applying camo to guildies for the first time (it didn't work of course, but they thought it was cool).

5) Making my first million by selling Yavin leathery that I hunted and harvested solo (the spawn was actually wrong, but the vendor bought it before he and I realized it was wrong. He refused a refund.)

6) Making my first trap schematic in a HTFB

7) Taking a guildy that had never seen a Gorax ona hunt and looting a heating element.

8) Supplying traps and camps to a ranger wannabe and helping him work up through scout

9) My first milking

10) Hunting unbuffed and unarmored anything and everything I wanted

I've only been around about 6 months, but Ranger was my first and only profession (other than playing around with different combat profs) on my first character. I've enjoyed reading the forum and talking with a few fellow Rangers along the way. I'll stick around and see what the NGE offers, but I have a feeling the best time of my gaming life just may be over(going back over 20 years to my Commodore computer lol). I guess we all have to grow up sometime.

/salute
