While I agree that all the your stances should be balanced more, my main concern with this proposal is that I think much of what your trying to accomplish is already built into the game or maybe I should say could be done by balancing the professions.

For example, if I wanted my char to be an MR that's combat oriented then I go MR+Combat Prof. If I want my char to be more of a support char then MR+Non-combat Prof. What I really want to see is an MR tree that makes a MR the undisputed uber hunter while maybe moving us into more of a support role in PVP.

Yeah all bonuses except i believe poison and disease would not count towards pvp. Even posion and disease if you want but those would be a minor and nice bonus for rangers in pvp combat.

I would make sense.... and it fits the profile of a hunter. How many times have you been psn, and diseased vs. other players? (I have so much poison and disease running through my Ranger veins, Rancorsshould be running away out of sheer fear !)

At least have some level of immunity would be nice to have

Thats just it though, if you want to make us the undisputed hunters (whether it be using this idea or others) you need to improve3 areas: Offense, Defense, Resistances.

Atm if you wish to be a combat orientate ranger, yes you choose a combat profession. This idea would not hamper that in any way, nor would it limit your ability to support. For example:

If i want to be a support character with ranger i pick Master Ranger + Master SL. I go into pathfinder stance to scout ahead and see if there is danger ahead. I track to see where i will take the group, i use my SL abilities to help the group. The fact you can go into a mode that improves your combat effectiveness can only help a template like this by making it a much tougher character so he/she can lead the group more. Being able to switch to a more travel friendly 'mode' when the danger levels are down can only bea plus.

Another:

Ifi wanted to be a super hunter and verycreature combat effective,i would STILL have to take a combat profession. This idea grants no special abilities what so ever. It simply ENHANCES your existing skills beyond that of a non-ranger because of your superior knowledge of taking down creatures. The bonuses granted with each stance would reflect on what the ranger wants to do at that time. Obviously hunting stance needs some drawbacks but they will come as ideas develope.

The whole concept of this idea is to give rangers a choice to customiseand enhance theirown personal ranger template to suithow theylike to play. It does not force someone to use a particular weapon, it does not give us always onabilities thatsome would find overpowering, insteadit balances the high benefits gained with tempdisadvantagesto other areas within our profession. Should we be more effective at creature hunting than any combat stack? i believe yes, i believe quiet considerably. But i also believe that we as rangers should be able to adapt to different situations in the wild using nature and the wilderness as our tool.

Our hunting skill should be unmatched but should not limit the ranger into doing one particular thing, a ranger chooses the tools that best suit him/her or the situation not the other way around. Nearly all rangers are unique, thats whats cool about us, ranger weapons would be cool (ive done a few designs myself) but ive realised they take away what we are....... a class that allows so muchdiversity that no 2 rangers are totally alike.

RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!!

on a non python note: Yeah i totally agree, you would think a person who spends the majority of their time out in the wilderness hunting or thinking about hunting should have some sort of built up resistance to poisons and diseases. A higher and more effective imune system perhaps?
