Thread: /Submerge

3. In PVE- a. while in combat with an attacking creature, using /submerge while in the water in "swimming" position, will cause all mobs to /peace and lose interest. b. while in combat with an NPC, using /submergewill cause an extremedecrease inenemy accuracy (renderingyou unhittable)andand completelycease the deathblowingability.
True, that's why some sort of "feign death" alternative would be easier to implement....

I think that would only work with some mobs. Pretty much all flying creatures would /peace, I'm guessing, as would most arachnoid creatures. Mobs like kaadus and dalyrakes are at home in the water and should still be able to attack. Cat based mobs can also swim well, so they should probably be able to attack as well.
Now we're getting complex
You're right but giving each animal seperate AI routines and proceedures could make things a 'tad' complicated and time intensive

Totally agree. Would be the easiest and quickest way to implement this. Fiegn death with restrictions.
However my concerns with this method is with the state effect of swimming. Can you perform ANY abilities whilst swimming? Prehaps it isimpossible to issue a 'combat' move (FD) whilst in a swimming state?
I know you can mount whilst 'swimming' so this does give us hope but issuing combat commands whilst swimming is a totally different ballpark.
It's all about state variables in the code.... I don't think creating a new combat command, which is stated to work under a specific state scenario, would be too hard to code (At least I don't see the complication).
Cool. I was just concerned that perhaps the swim state itself was coded to not allow combat actions. This i believe would cause problem because it would mean making a different swim state setup, you would instead have to say what is allowed and what isnt.
If its in the combat move code then its all good ![]()

Hmmmmm, I wouldn't beleive that. I think that would cause some program inflexibility... I think your stance state is checked when you attempt to utilize an action (stance state, being whether you are swimming, mounted, kneeling and so on..)
So, I am certain it should be in the "combat move code" (or as I named it above "action")....
