You make some valid points I guess, but your inconsistency leaves me a little cold to be honest.
Yeah this was probably the wrong forum unless it's Ranger only armour, a petition is a bad title, and maybe the person who wrote the mail isn't as imaginitive as some to think up an SWG Quest.. he's not a Dev after all, just a player and who knows how clever he is.
BUT (caps on purpose!) since when was this forumfor exclusively clever people talking purely Ranger subjects?!!!!! Half the threads on here are just people having fun, and they are Rangers, but few topics are pure Ranger'ism and some have nothing at all to do with it.
I've checked, why haven't you shot down any of them?
I joined the forums 1 week ago after playing the game for 6 months, and I specifically joined because I became a Master Ranger, wandered here and you all seemed really cool.
My own server forum is packed with kids flaming each other for PvP exploits and ganking (I don't even know what that is!) and is frankly worse than English parliament. I came here cos I thought you all seemed fun,
After thelecture I got for trying to have, what I consider to be a pretty harmless chat - and although you see it as pointless I just made my first in-game contact through this "abomination of a post" - was it really so harmful to this forum?
I am actually really upset over this (I'm a girl, I'm allowed to be emotional

FWIW, by looking at the style in which this was posted, I thought this had been spammed on every forum. I even went so far as to hit Report Abuse, but I thought I better check the other forums for this thread. It was only after i checked some other forums that I realized this was meant for us...
This really isn't an effective posting style, sorry.

hey guys take it easy on Dureena she isn't the orginal poster she just replyed with some harmless chat on the subject. Just because she thought it would be neat to have the armor and didn't flame the gy doesn't mean you should flame her.

Ok then...instead of flaming the original poster, on his posting abilities, why not start a mature, effective discussion.
Personally i am a rebel, but i really do like the look of the BS armour.
So, lets discuss.
What kind of quest should it? your opinions, thoughts..
Mine: THe Imperial Stronghold on Corellia. You must visit a high ranking officer, and he will assign you to a few easy missions to scout about some rebel NPC's in teh area. then Report back, but you must do this Overt using Camo to avoid being attacked.
As for the Final mission, you are given a rebel ID badge. you Must infiltrate the Secret Rebel Base in NW corellia. and speak to one of the High ranking rebel leaders, they will give vital information, that you must bring to a rebel base on one of the adventure planets. Instead of bringing the Information to the rebels, you return to the Imperial stronghold with the information. You must then bring a groups of Imperial NPC's and AT-ST's or AT-AT's??? and dystroy the base. on completion, you are given the Scout armour.
What are your ideas?....

I wasn't flaming Dureena at all, just explaining.
I was flaming the petition, as I have flamed all petitions since... well since.
Caps are ineffective. Unless the title has lots an lots an lots of !!!!!!!!!!!!! exclamation points, then the CAPs are EFFECTIVE.
Simply put, petitions are dumb. Case in point - wookie armor. Countless petitions, but until someone came up with some ideas, it did not happen (Not a wookie either, just know some)
OK, next - its BIker Scout Armor. Some Imp weenie likes how it looks. No kidding, it looks nice, and those wearing it look just as nice as I loot them (A NO DIVISION poster, hot dawg). There are about a gazmillion threads in the GCW forum asking for better ST armor, BS armor, the green snot monster armor (who are those guys anyhow? Like the Creature from the Green Lagoon??). Most are like the original post, worthless. What if I posted that all scouts/Rangers should have the power to leap tall buildings, be faster than a speedingbullet and more powerfulthan a locomotive. Without reasons why, and an incorporation of those reasons into the game,and showing how these powers would not adversly effect other classes...forget it. Case in point - search out the Ranger Bow posts. Great ideas, thought out, incorporated into the game and the skill set, doesn't step on anyones toes, promotes inter-profession dependency, and is good tasting and good for ya too.
Of course, if I were a social retard I coulda posted --- PETITION - WE NEED A RANGER BOW NOW!!!!!!!!!! SIGN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, and what do the Rebels get? How bout them neutrals? What about the wookies? No thoughts in the original post lead to silly questions later on. Is this a quest or crafted item. Overt or Covert wear (factional armor is generally overt only, til you get a buddy to kill you in a duel and you keep it on but go covert)? If his is neither crafted nor quest, what ranks can buy it? Is it limited to scouts only, and if so, do they have to have a speeder bike rather than a swoop? If scouts only, what box gives the certification - assuming there is one? Why only scouts, why not other classes? Is that fair?

Yea it is a great idea, there are tons of reasons why Imps should get biker scout armor..
1, they are scouts !
2, it is the coolest armor in the game.
3, strap on some blasters to my bike, give me a scout blaster and armor and im offf to patrol endor !
4, would have to be some monsterous quest to get the schematics to make it and then only a master armorer could produce.. armorers need love too.
5, petitions do get the devs attention but only when they have lots of comments for and against. No full of flames cuase ya disslike the idea.. many times things that have been in petetions have been fixed or changed.. many times its becuase of the noise we are heard.. but flame posts are skiped.. thems the facts jack

I dont beleive the bad karma this thread I have posted seems to have thrown up , i've seen lottsa threads posted like this so i'm sorry if I seem to have caused offence to some people for the style an content , I cant take in the fact that someone was gonna post an abuse report!!!!!!!!!!! this is an honest thread to see what the response about biker scout armor for scouts an rangers of an imperial persuasion , if rebs wanna chime in then great , ( an yes I agree theyneed a lot of affortput into thier kit too) an flame me if you dont like it , but some of it has come close to serious slagging off which I am not happy about , and I dont think I deserve , we've all got our opinions so lets discuss it ; yea , after all thats why were on here , or was it too have fun?? , I have been a star wars fan since 1977 , and will continue to be for a long time , it is why I play this game , I dunno , the idea jus came to me an I posted it , I think it is a shame some peeps take things a bit too personally , oh well I think it is still a good idea , an im still gonna grind my way to ranger even tho I can only play for an hour or so here an there ( an dureena i'll see you in game , thanx) I spose in a way I should be glad for the good response I got on this subject ,dint mean to upset anyone , luv an hugs ,xxxxx

Fair point and I hate seeing somebody who is keen on an idea (as opposed to some that've got a big drum to beat and do it in every forum they can find) get stomped on.
BUT, lets work it through some?
"Why" - Why should BS get an armour specific to one sector of a profession? This isn't a 'I'm a rebel, why should imps get stuff' type comment but a request to hear what reasoning is behind your idea.
"How" - How do they get it? Certification with different levels of profession? All at once at Master? By completing a quest and gaining the certification?
"Who" - Who should it be available to? (Relates back to 'why')
"What" - The armour, what resists? Durability? Quest item or crafted?
Other things you need to consider are how do you balance the armour out ingame?
That apart, don't take it too personally, but you did make a kinda dumb post
I know, cos I've done the exact same in the past and got well roasted for it. Live and learn. Come bouncing back bigger and badder than before....
