As far as the tanned hides are concerned, there has been plenty of grumbling about that in the Corr forum. I doubt it will get changed, but Ihope the devs will think carefully about where schematics of this type are placed in the future.

There's something I've beencurious about. After the CU, creatures will be more difficult to kill. Does this mean an increase in creature difficulty level, which would mean an increase in resources dropped? I'm not asking for the ability to get 100 units of meat from a chuba or anything, but if difficulty level increases, resource-per-critter should increase accordingly. Isn't the amount ofresources dropped based on CL? Just wondering.

I highly doubt thet will raise CL on everything. When they say "creatures will be more difficukt to kill," I think they are referring to the HAM changes and the way specials work.

Yes, but... doesn't CL mean 'here's how hard I am to kill!'? Shouldn't creatures that are harder to kill have a higher CL? That would make sense. And don't tell me that SOE would do something that doesn't make sense, because I would simply refuse to believe it.

Call me crazy, but I really do miss the days when I was scared sh*tless to go to Dathomir and hunt alone.

But I think there should be ways for the smart and the skillful to get through the hard planets on their own, and I see Ranger as being the best place to put the necessary skills to survive in the wilderness. I don't think any single player should be able to take anything on in the game, no matter how uber the gearor template. There should be some things that remain a true challenge. The game definitately, definately loses something ifnothing remains as a challenge to be worked towards. Yavin, and Dathomir especially should be ther domain of the elite combat groups. Planning, skills, smarts, tactics should be necessary.A tank, ranged combat, a doc/cm, and a ranger or squad leader should be the basic components needed to go hunt the really big stuff. A truly prepared individual, who knows their profession and is smart about it should be able to go hunt decent game alone on the adventure planets, but it definitely should be a challenge.

I couldn't sleep, so I lay in bed thinking of SWG..... Casually, I came to think of the Avian meat thatrecently spawnedin Talus and how hard it was,to collect "vast" amounts of meat for our Guild Doc. (I felt a little guilty that I spent three and a half hours hunting in Talus and only collected 4.5 K avian I tracked for Devils but only found a few.)

Time passes..... and I started"day dreaming" thatit would have been better if the avian would had spawned anywhere else than Talus... for example atEndor, Naboo, or Dath instead. Ahh, nice thought !! I could see me tracking and hunting"Lantern Birds" in Endor, "Ancient Reptilian Fliers" in Dathomir and THEN....

.... THEN it struck me......The Designers seem to have completely missed the logic of us being able to craftsomething as obvious to us as the "tanned hides" schematic !! So, I came to think of the Combat Upgrade and I realized that I have a vague recollection of reading that the critters will be harder to kill after the CU, which in turn will make it harder for us to make a living. Especially on high level planets as we are forced to fight off random aggro critters, thatsee us as their next meal, when we are onour quest of gathering resources.....

So may it happen that hunting in Dath or Endor would requireus to gather hunting partiesafter the CU ?!? ?!? If that's what's happening... how pathetic is that?

Needless to say..... Owen, Calc, Tiggs... who ever... please... I need some reassurance that we are not forgotten in the planning for the CU, as it is obvious that we were forgotten in the planning of the "loot" schematics upgrades/patches.

That's all.... I can go back to bed now. (Wondering how far down the mud they can push me before I am forced to drop Ranger )

Ask JB about hunting on Dath unbuffed. He can do it solo and doesnt have much trouble with it. So post CU buffed and armored it couldnt be any worse then he has it now. You should be fine

I agree wholeheartedly, Kamileon. I remember fondly the first time I got killed-- I had the temerity to think that I could solo a rogue bageraset on Corellia. (I was an unbuffed, unarmored wookiee novice marksman at that time, and I was itching to try outmy firstbowcaster.) I think it would be fantastic if the adventure planets were actually adventure planets again.

Harder to kill can come from either making the creatures toughter, or the players weaker (this is of course a relative thing). The creatures are fine the way they are (with a some exceptions...ie. Super Battle Droids), so why muck with them? The players (armor, weapons, unlimited specials) are where the problem lies, and where they need to do work to do the balance.
