Hakai-- there's a bottle of Jack Daniels I've got for you. It'd be a shame if I couldn't give it to you because you had those pesky hairclippers on.....

best night ever---
I was collecting liter botles of Jack Daniels early in my Freshman year. The plan was to fill them with highlighter fluid and water to make them respectively green, clear and orange. Against a white wall, it would look like an Irish flag.
So I had the green and orange and I picked up a bottle of Jack Daniels and declared that I was going to finish the flag THAT NIGHT. That meant a liter of Jack Daniels, by myself, in a single evening. So I got about halfway through when I walked into my friends room. It was already pretty late, so the drinking was winding down. My friends were just messing around, flipping a card and drinking beer for as many seconds as were on the card.
Like a mo-ron, I joined in with my Jack Daniels. First round-- I drew a 2. No problem. Bam. Two seconds. Done. Next time around....well, I drew a queen. Never a man to back down from a challenge, I tipped the liter bottle up and chugged for 10 seconds. My friends were agahst. About 15 minutes later, I lost all sense of what was I was doing. But, to my credit, I was up for two more hours-- still drinking Jack. There are many poloroids of that night that I have NO recolection of, including me drinking Jack and Budwiser at the same time. I woke up the next morning with one of the only two hangovers I've ever had-- AND an empty bottle of jack.
Flag finished, I swore of Jack Daniels forever. Of course, I forgave him the next week.
We rangers should not care about our income, we are not mindless money makers.
I really hope that combat is slowed down, who remembers back in the day, when you first started, getting into a group of fellow noobs, with your mis-matched colauge of marabi, chitin, and bone armour, with you DL20a rifle, and going on a hunt for the ferocious savage humbaba, the medic was the most important player in the group, and after we all been incapped mutliple times, we would all sit in a camp and laugh about it.
Those were the days, now you have the noobs, that are crying and wining that they wont be able to get there titanic buffs, throw on there super armour, and run out and solo just about anything. They never got to experienced the true thrill and fun of being in a group taking on dangerous critters.....that are now, considered easy.

I am not saying what the poster said was right/wrong/indifferent - just that he is speaking of things he has no knowledge of.Quit worrying. Ranger is not being touched by the CU. Of course our combat professions are, but not Ranger.JB
Anything touching the combat professions is going to affect us. Sure, we can camo, put up camps, forage and lead groups wihout ever having to attack a single creature but I'm sure we can agree that only very specific templates revolve around Ranger being non-combat.
I sure hope they don't forget about our traps in the CU. They cost HAM, do damage and apply states. If that doesn't qualify as something for the CU... then I'm scared
Not

Not sure it's in Ireland mate.... We don't use the term "Freshman" ![]()
But interested to know how many Irish rangers we have around here.....
I'm from Dublin, living in Edinburgh... on the Infinity server for the last 7 months playing various templates and professions until I settled on TKM/Ranger
Oops, that was massively off-topic wasn't it?

Rangers should be concerned about our income, but it should not be the central focus of our play. Without some cash, unless we are proficient Artisans, we will be unable to take care of some of our needs.
I understand what you are saying, though. These FOTM and profiteering Rangers are annoying in the extreme, especially when they ask for help or where to go for the best resources. I always respond, "You're a Ranger, figure it out." Greed can be a powerful ally, a wise man once said. I don't think this is what he meant.
Those newb hunts were terrific fun. I really look forward to making group hunts more important once again. While soloing some creatures should be possible, and it is certainly satisfying to do so, Kimos and Krayts (to name a few) should not be trifled with alone. I see all too many players bragging about soloing this and soloing that; I don't think most have done so, but I know some have, and that is disappointing. Remember how the Sand People scattered when they thought a Krayt might be nosing about? I want those days again.
Chefs need milk. From my experience across different servers chefs pay 40 cpu for milk. You do not need buffs, a weapon or armor. Find some wild Bols and Fambaas on Naboo and travel between them hopefully about 200 meters apart or greater and collect as much milk as you want. The milk setting resets itself at about 200 meters, so you can use the same two lairs until you get bored milking animals. I have found Bols easier to milk, because they still with only the occasional sprinting compared to Fambaas. I can make 200k of credits which is 5k of milk in about 30-40 minutes of play time. Now is that great compared to the now nerfed solo groups? Its not that bad. Do I care what my weapon or armor stats are whether it is now or after the CURB? Nope. The Rangers/Scouts will always be able to make money, always.
