I have tried a variety of templates and currently have Master Ranger/Rifleman (2/3/1/1)/Master Scout/Marksman (4/4/4/4).
My goal is Master Ranger/Master Rifleman/Master Scout/Marksman (4/1/1/4). However, I may change this if my activities require sacrificing additional boxes from Marksman to gain skills I find mtself in need of.

I am new to the whole ranger thing, ranger as my original goal back around launch but I got side tracked for 16-18 months. I have a character on Eclipse that has the goal of Master Scout/Master Ranger/Master CH/Rifleman 0400. I know this is not a strong template but it is addictingly fun. Currently I am Master Marksman (originally was going BH changed my mind,) Master Scout, CH 1/1/1/1, Ranger 1,2,0,0.
Now if I could actually find some creature spawns I could level up. I walked the length of Rori, Talus, Tatooine, Naboo, and even a stretch of Dantooine and once I got about 750 meters out of town I would not see another creature, even stopping for the occasional creature track, until I was 750 meters from the next town. Well... except for Tatooine, there I did run into a grouchy Kraytabout 2km out ofMos Espa that was nice enough to chase me for about 750m.

That'll be 36 hrs of camping (It's the meditation phase, in which the Novice Ranger will find himself and become one with nature.. He will then realize that frontiering is a "hurdle" worth its respect, not barfed at.) 
The only thing preventing the Ranger Forum to look like a "|)i5457eR z0n3" is Frontiering (Think abou it)

I'm going to be master ranger/master rifleman. I love my conceal shot. Taking out a liar without them seeing me once is just so....rangeresque for me.

I'm working on a new character, and planning to go Master (combat) / 0040 (or more) Ranger / at least 2000 Medic, and maybe a touch of CH ... as you can see, it's very much up in the air. Given that I've done (on another character) TKM, Swords, Rifles and Pistols, what do you think might be a good choice for the combat profession?
