One quick tip to help with checking the resource attributes is to set the "resource value average display" (or whatever it is called exactly)for your inventory items. If you open up the interface management window (CTRL-O) and look under the MISC tab you will see a section that allows you to select which resource attributes you are interested in displaying. If for instance you check "Overall Quality" and "Potential Energy" then when you look in your inventory, resourses (creature and mined resources both) will now have two numbers attached to the icon. One number will be the resource quantity and the new number will be the average of the values of the resources attributes you selected.
For example, if you select OQ and PE in the interface management screen and you have a stack of 1,000 Leathery Hide and that hide has a OQ of 700 and a PE 400, then in your inventory you will see the icon for the stack with 1K (the quanitity) and the number 550 (the average of the OQ and PE).
I find that using these settings is much faster than having to click on each resource to see the values.
Hope this helps. Good hunting and clear skies.
