Thread: Neat idea, regarding traps and CH, check it out.....
It is an interesting idea. I was about to say that it wouldn't work because CH can just do it themselves and they have stong weapons to protect themselves but I remember something that is supposed to be in the next patch that says a CH can/will get aggroed by things his pets are attacking, so they may not want to get too close to the aggro animals that would could trap for them. Good thinking.
This could be an effective way for us to make money and help out the CH profession. Plus, we usually go out and track babies for them anyway. I know that I have spent a lot of time on dantooine tracking baby grauls for my CH friends.
I agree.
The idea is very cool, and as long as we can only release the creature from the Ctrl-D screen, I don't foresee much issue.
- Onto the wishlist it will go.

If you would kindly peruse the sticky threads you might find a request for "harvestors" that trap critters and harvest organics. There was also a request (by yours truely
) about a small bonus to a Ranger/CH combo but the CH's (the pure ones) didn't like the idea. It seemed to be the same argument to having a non-CH having a small pet. IMHO a "natureboy" that has both CH and Ranger WOULD get something more out of the deal then ether seperately. I also feel that a CH going against a Ranger would instill FEAR that his pets would be negated. I'm not ready to go to the extent that a Ranger can capture and trame a critter... capture perhaps but not tame... w/o getting at least novice CH. Bonus perhaps (like a Wookie?) but not shared function. The prof system is for that thing, learn to tame by being a tamer. When I first presented this argument there was a few seemingly knee-jerks (I'm not arguing the non-CH bit, I'm presenting simply that Ranger can enhance CH, nothing is gained w/o getting CH).
Now the bit about being the CH nemisis, that would follow still, w/o having to be a CH. It's just I'm not with you on the trap it means tame bit. I think you are getting to a "find familiar" bit you see in the fantasy MMOG's? Remember that Ranger and CH ARE one class in those. In SW:G they are split apart.
I understand what you're saying Fred, but setting up a trap to catch a critter, and then being able to tame it is two seperate issues. A ranger should be able to know how a critter lives, and therefore knows what it would like, and how to trap it. Once its trapped, we can't tame it, can't use it,or do anything with it except let it go. So, once we got em in the trap, we can then bring it to a CH to let the CH tame it. So really we are not benefitting in any way by having the critter trapped. The only ones benefiting would be the CH's out there. One such CH is my aforementioned friend, who would like me to track down GSP's for him every time i'm on Talus. Only problem is i can't tame em( I technically can now, but im dumping CH soon). He asked me over two weeks ago, and we are always in different spots doing different things. If i had a trap, and was on talus, i could at least trap the GSP, then bring him to my buddy. I used my trap, he got his critter, everybody's happy. ![]()
Thanks NRaas for adding it to the wishlist. I feel like i am doing my part to add to the Ranger Community. ![]()
