Thread: What do you see your Ranger as?
I decided (as I always do) to roleplay the character beyond the norm. Since I study druidry in real life, it's hard for me to step away from that, and since rangers are a by-product of druids, I figured it works well... my bio works decently enough to fit the concept in-game:
"You look upon a man in his low 30's, who exudes a type of silent confidence not found in most others. A lifelong student of the druidic concepts, Caydyn serves his role as druid by acting as a guardian for an equal balance within nature, ridding the galaxy of any source which upsets the natural order of things.
Many often have a misconception that druids are pacifists, but instead Cay uses his knowledge of all things related to nature to create a balance between all living things. Central to the concept of druidry is the Force, known in druidic terms as "Awen" (ah-ooh-en). It is from druidry where Jedi get many of their philosophies.
Druids also act beyond the role of nature guardian

Druids also act beyond the role of nature guardian, serving to lend their wisdom on matters political and social. Throughout history, it is the druids who have had the ear as council to most great leaders. Caydyn puts his knowledge of the galaxy to use- not to gain personal benefit for himself, but to create peace and balance among all who live."
There is a misconception that 1.) druidry is only a fantasy concept and 2.) it is an ancient, unpracticed religion... in fact, it is alive and well in the real world (and of course quite different than the fantasy stereotypes seen) and actually is more of a philosophy than a religion. I believe acting as "Guardian of Nature's Balance and Keeper of Lore" is a unique and fun way to play the game!
