I refuse to be a bounty hunter scum, yes they were scum in the star wars universe, i'm a bit of a roleplayer and it bothers me. I went ranger because i wanted to be like an antarian ranger. Right now i am just placing my trust in our correspondant to convey our wants to the devs and hope they listen.

I love this. I am currently reading the New Jedi Order series, involving the Yuuzhan Vong. I am anxiously awaiting mention of the Antarian Rangers.
Thanks for the great post!

It would be very cool to one day have the option of becoming an Antarian Ranger.
As a clas above Master Ranger. Specializing in a weapon class.
It seems, based on this description, that we are Antarian Rangers, but not really. Instead of "Master Ranger" above my head, how sweet would it be to say, "Antarian Ranger".
That could have some possibilities.

I think that the concept of the Antarian Rangers is exactly what we need to differntiate ourselves from our Scout roots.
It is clear, and has been all but stated outright, that we were an underthought profession and unfinished profession when the game when live. I think the Antarian Rangers is an exellent and noble goal for us, in the long run.

It is a grand experiment to find a way a Rifleman can be as effective in this game as the other combat classes... at least other then bleed and run. I hate running, it looks so... cowerdly.
Running is not cowardly. It is a perfectly sound tactical decision that can lead to victory.

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that somebody was trying to start an Antarian Ranger PA. I don't remember when or where I saw this though. Might be a good idea.

I dont think the definitions collide. SOE never said we were molded from the Antarian Rangers. There are two types of rangers in my eyes. Wilderness Rangers specializing in survivial and creatures and Military Rangers who are a specialized combat force able to survive in the wilderness. In my opinion, SOE envisions us to be prior. In addition, I believe the Antarian Rangers weren't all wilderness rangers. I'd imagine they were a mix of combat professions with specialized training.
The best analogy for SWG would be a PA called the 'Antarian Rangers' that comprises of a variety of professions.

Maybe you want to be one dimensional and not have the star wars feel but i and alot of other people do want more than that. To expect a class to do nothing more than hunt and skin animals is ludicrous and only reinforces the fact that we really don't do anything more than a scout can do just with a little more style. IS that what you want? I am not saying ditch what we have but we need to have more added or the class simply has no luster once you hit master. I'd have to force myself to hunt once that is done and then only really need to go out and gather some meat which i can do very fast. Money in star wars can only buy you so much and eventually you have all you want anyway, the end game is the GCW and i want to be in it.

Seems like this would make a nice elite-elite profession, akin to the city planner for architects.
