Another way to track PCs is to find out who is doing the annoying guerilla warfare tactics. I will have Tracking 4 tonight - only about 2k XP shy... You can essentially be a spy for hire that way too.. all you need is to know who is normally covert and became overt.... Then you can track them down and kill them before they kill TEFd or overt loners... or at least have your own hit squad ready for them... I can see it now... "X is 240m to the west" quick check again... "X is now 200m to the west.. closing in... send out the sacrificial lamb..."

Pay back for a recent repeated KD/slaying I got at the hands of a nefarious rebel guerilla... I already have 2 commandos and 2 bounty hunters that want payback on the same individual.. I want you to meet my little friend.... bahahahahahaha :-)

So this is a long-winded .... "Yes."

I'm no bounty hunter, so I don't use the tracking portion of manhunting. But the creature knowledge you gain will be very valuable to you and your group against animals.

You've got to ask yourself if it's useful for what you need it to do.

I personally think that Tracking is THE best tree in the Ranger profession right now... so yes, in my opinion But then, I'm a Creature Handler, so it's plain why Tracking is so usefulfor me. ~J

Tracking is extremely useful. I've tracked groups of Rebels across entire planets and ambushed them when they were healing up from fighting. It's not difficult either. I enjoy stalking my target, waiting for the right moment, and then taking them down.

The best part about track is that I can track my targets beyond the 64m range, so they can't see me - but I can see them. Bwahaha.
