Thread: Would you still be a Ranger if...
Probably not. But then, I also wouldn't have picked a Wookiee if I'd known we'd be the redheaded stepchildren of the game. If you take a look at my signature, you'll see I'm used to being the underdog.
I guess for me its a feeling of 2 mixed ideals, the ranger whoknows the wind, land and the creatures that roam it, much likepark rangers etc and the other ideal being that of todays military ranger special forces. First in, last out. Hence why i am also a rifleman
Although if you put pen to paper to weigh out the pros and cons, in practise i find that i dont really get that except for the ability to climb terrain faster i guess and the ability to track. what it doesnt do is give me a significant advantage over creatures in damage or the ability to target certain points of the creature which could maybe blind the target, cause it to bleed moreor slow it down etc. anyway, the list of what it doesnt do is long and mentioned many times. many rangers have contributedgood ideas andNrass with these ideas is pushing as best as he can while trying to keep the class balanced.
So why do I stay a ranger? Hope. Belief.
While im not a Ranger yet, Im still working on Mastering Scout(currently 3/4/2/3), Ive always been more into hunting creatures on MMOs, and Ive always thought the combination of Rifleman/Ranger would make a good Hunter type character, or even a sniper with the camoflauge kits that Ranger has access to. Which is why I plan on going Ranger, even if Vehicles are in(and I still plan on getting one when I have the credits)
I would not have chosen Ranger as a profession if vehicles and mounts had been in at launch.
One of the main reasons I chose Ranger was a perceived need in groups for stealth in the wild and travel in general. Both are negated by vehicles.
I chose to be a Ranger in beta and became a Master Ranger in release. It's all I ever wanted to be in SWG.
After vehicles were released and I realized that I can be every bit the Ranger I was without actually spending points in Ranger,I gave up all my Ranger points.
I'm still as good a hunter as I was as a Ranger, maybe better since I used my Ranger points to master Brawler.
i was a bh and dropped for ranger. i really only doing it for the tracking. i love to hunt and tracking helps a lot. plus there r perks like longer maskscent. the only problem with ranger is that camps need to be more usefull. they r only for calling pets and regrouping.
