Weeeeeelllll.... there is one caviate... Don't go for a vunerabiliy if you have high AP. You WON'T see AP effects in that case. This might be good when using a weapon w/o AP on a light armoured critter, butIf AP>AR you would do better going with a weapon whos damage type lists in examine as 1% to 49% resistsif AP-AR=3. This is why the Ion is so popular in PvP. All are light armoured and high resist to energy but few have resist to stun.

So armor piercing actually does work? Awesome. I don't really care about how it works, just so long that it does. ...snip...

You gotta be carefull though... by only going up the sniping tree your not really going to get good use out of your rifles... in all honesty, Master Rifleman is where it's at. Just giving you a heads up.
After making Master Ranger, in order to be effective at hunting I need a weapon, pets or both. I can be a Master Rifleman, a Master Creature Handler, or master neither but have some combination of both. Given what pets are capable of, and how the Creature Handler profession works now, I can't possibly see how Master Rifleman could work anywhere near as well. Rifle Concealment is a big help but I don't think it's any substitute for having a 10K HAM forward tackle at my disposal.

LoL.. thats because you have never seen a Master Rifleman in action. I have screen shots of Strafe Shot 2 doing up to 7000dmg(okay its rare, but it happens). And with a nice consistent DMG sliced, DMG powered up T21... Headshot2 will average about 3500-4000.. and I am hitting about 1 per second (Maybe 2secs with HS2, but its **edit** fast).
Bottom line is just about everything drops dead before it aggros, and AOE shots will drop more than one at once. Aggro'd a couple of Grauls or Giant Baz Nitchs? No problem.. just spam Strafe2 and kite for about 30secs and you will enjoying a double harvest.
I dropped CH in order to Master Rifleman and I have to tell you.. its better than I ever thought it could be. Keep your pets if you like.. but it better be because you simply like animals.. because they are costing you Master Rifleman.. and thats a BIG price.
/conceal using /concealedshot and prone will allow up to 6 misses before the critters will notice.
Maybe it's just the fact that I hunt red cons, but I haven't found this to be the case. It's still two misses and aggro for me. Rifle 2.1.0.1 Ranger 4.3.0.1. I'm always hunting /concealed using /concealshot (because I die in seconds if anything aggros...)

Using Conceal, and conceal shot, you can take down an At-St, if you have the time and Muon.
The rifflemen that miss are just playing dumb. Stick with perfect range for your weapon, for the +30 bonus, you wont miss. The target moves? Switch riffle according to range, or just stand and peace, and move to good range.
As for the T21, stick to laser until you get the 0002, at which point you are fast enuff for T21's slow speed.

Few things have heavy armor, so I don't so much use my T21 for that. However, its damage range is MUCH tighter than a Laser Rifle - my LR does 71-704, while my T21 does 130-336. It's a lower top end, but you won't be hitting for 400 every few shots.
Also, you may want to consider investing the 5 skill points into conceal shot (Concealment I) because it has made me feel like a true hunter. I'll be keeping that at least until we get the hunting blinds

ABSOLUTELY TRUE!
As a 4-4-4-4 Rifleman I was definitely doing well.. but when I clicked that Master box... my hunting ability went through the roof. Honestly, for anyone that doubts this.. please believe me, there is simply no comparison. As a Master Rifleman/ Master Ranger.. I am a true hunter, and I am LOVING it.
The ONLY thing that really needs to be addressed from the Rifleman standpoint I think is the lack of a variety of a few damage types. An acid damage rifle would be very nice to have and perhaps a blast or kinetic.

Conceal has nothing to do with how well /concealshot works. The skill used in conjunction with concealshot is /cover (rifleman skill).
And in reply to the original poster: As several people already pointed out, rifleman is not a dabbling-friendly profession. Either you go for master rifleman, or no rifle skills at all. It's not useful until you hit master.

Are you referring to /surpriseshot and /takecover? What is /cover? I just use /concealshot by itself I didnt know there was an "addon".

There isn't .. they're broken. Conceal by itself works just fine.. it's just kinda boring if you ask me.

Conceal shot is not badbut yeah it seems boring, I mean I only have the first box in that line and well I go to Dantooine and pikets or voriotrs don't see me I mean I expected unless I was master I would have a good deal of risk still while using it...hmmm
