Thread: Do we have anything about healing ourselves?
Well.. My problem isthat as a soon to be Master Ranger and Master Rifleman .. if my calculations are correct, does not leave me enough to get novice medic. So as a Master Rifleman who shootsat stuff and gets shot at constantly and as a Master of the Outdoors.. Or Master Creature fighter, who once again, gets scratched up constantly... I am unable to heal myself... not even a tincy bit.. I get cut, I can't use some leaves or anything to stop the bleeding... Oh well.. I don't think that Medics really would care if we as a specific class had a stim a version of what they have.. nothing major like I said.. they wouldn't even notice.. just my thoughts though...
It's up to you, survivability or damage output ? Pick one.
More powerful herbs certainly.
I'd rather see a target to forage though.
It'd be nice to plop my rear down in an area and see what's available as foragables, then to be able to specificly forage a certain item, like those onions that taste so darn good.
/forage
/forage (item)

The only ranger that should heal is one wtih novice medic. Remember howmany of usfeel about BH gettin tracking and traps?
/agree no need to step on the toes of other classes. Medics, heal, period. Let's focus on getting rangers something that's actually useful and unique.

Now if we go and ask for the ability to forage for specific food stuffs, we will one-up the chefs. They need to use raw resources andcraft their items, while we could simply press a single button and retrieve the end-result with any resources, and without crafting.
That's very true.
BUT. (Funny how I always have one of those to add
)
It really wouldn't be that easy. Out of 100 /forageItem attempts, you might only hit 5 times. Pair that with not all forageables being available in an area/on a planet like normal resource shifts, and it wouldn't be too much competition I think.
What I have in mind would be similar to sampling for a resource vs putting up a harvester. We just wouldn't be able to sit in one spot all day and full our satchel full of melons, that would be unbalancing. We'd have to get out and actually work for it, and at the end of the day, we'd really only have enough for our personal use, or to sell in very small lots.
As far as competition goes, as much as I like my melons and onions, Muon Gold/Neutron Pixies/Tatooine Sunburnwill ALWAYS be preferable, they simply last longer.
Of course, getting a Musician/Dancer buff lasts even longer and effects the same stats as food does, without all the nasty puking and fainting that comes with the serious buff level food.
Really, would you rather have a bannana(forage item) or a bannanasplit (chef item)? A bannana is great to hold you over until dinner, but if I'm chasing hurtons I want a crate of bannana splits to enjoy.
I'm not even going to suggest that forageable foods give higher buffs because that would be steppin on the chef's toes. No doubt about that. Nor would it be a good idea to have a complete list of what's available in an area. I see it more as: forage, find a melon, forage more melons. There could be a randomness built in that could make that melon a fluke. Maybe I'm standing in an onion patch and that melon was just an aberration.
As it stands now, I can circumvent the chefs by foraging my own food. The only real problem with it is the randomness pretty much requires I spend all day looking for food, and I end up with a bunch of junk in the process. I know that's probably intentional, but personally, I rate it right up there with having to pop a camp to get my bike out. It's not going to be a game breaker, it's just annoying.
Just my thoughts.
- But other posters above were suggesting it, as a way of producinga healing ability with the given forage system.

I know you aren't suggesting it...

Which of course was the initial focus of this thread to begin with.
