This information seeems to be requested again and getting negitive replies so I thought I'd give it a bump, Also I would like to add that I am now swordsman and even solo the droids work fast than what a player can do. Again, while I'l being argo'd by 5 bolles and killing them, the corpses will dissapear before I can finnish my fight with the other bolles therefore I lose the resource on that corpse. With a droid <ungrouped> I can harvest WHILE I fight which is way faster and much more efficient.

A few notes real quick.
A droid with 5 good harvest modules and 1 good trapping module can be the ranged ranger's best friend. Fill the droid with adhesive mesh traps and keep that critter at an arms lenght the whole batte. The droid throws the traps so you don't have to pause in combat to do it and can be running while the trap is thrown. the harvest bonus isn't as great, but ranged fighters save downtime healing themselves or waiting in line to buff to put on armor.
Also, make a macro for your droid's functions and it goes even smoother. /tellpet harvest is all you need, click the macro or the hotkey and you save yourself one whole keystroke.

Just a note, as a TKM Ranger. I use a droind while doing melee, when working mass graves you can send the droid to each corpse as you continue to fight when soloing. As soon as one drops I give my command (a macro) that has me loot, send the droid to harvest, pauses a few seconds then calls the droind back, verry helpfull when pull large qty's of critters from lairs. And I just keep fighting

Hello fellow rangers,
I wanted to write this short article in response to the negative opinions from those who do not seem to realize the value of these droids. First things first:
Who do these droids benefit?
The creature harvest module mainly benefits any scout or ranger who uses ranged methods in hunting his/her resource. If you use melee methods in aquiring your resources and do not hunt in groups, than yes, you can harvest faster , although without the added harvest bonus.

What is the highest harvest bonus you can get on a droid?
It depends on how good the DE is who makes it. I've heard of droids that havea harvest bonus of 117, maybe more. the droid I have is somewhere around 85 with the one trapping module. At 85 the droid harvests maybe 4 - 5% more than I can which isn't much, but the way I hunt I have found that it's worth it. I guess no one's realy sure what the direct relation is of the droids bonus to the Ranger's bonus, but somehow the ammount the droid harvests iscalculated using the user's harvest skill and the droid's harvest bonus combined.

The only time I have wished for a harvesting droid is when I'm hunting spiders on Endor. for some reason the really like me, so no matter where I kill them, with their dying breath, the zoom over to give me a hug and tell me it's alright, they understand. So I end up with a pile of dead spiders in front of me...and then I can harvest maybe 1 or two (always the last ones killed) and wait till they move to harvest the ones beneath. By that time, the first ones I've killed have despawned and I lose a hundred or so units of meat.
Other than that, the droids interface always just makes me want to slap it...so I never use it.
I think <crtrl><shift><semicolon> -- or is that <ctrl><colon> -- will cycle thorugh all of your previous target (which lets you target the corpses) -- this might be useful for dealing with the pile of corpses at your feet problem.

An advanced R3 (I am pretty sure) can hold the most modules and can therefore have the highest rating. They are prettty fast, too. The bipedal droids are slower than molasses in January.

I've got a 109 R3 and he's great. His name is Norby. Anyway, asmediocre ranger/mediocre rifleman on Shadowfire, I tend to hunt solo sans armor using Conceal Shot until the mob drops. I'm always in the prone position when I do this and a good 40+m from my target(s). So, having a droid to run over and harvest for me is fantastic. Especially since he gets more than I do and I still get 100% of the scouting xp. How did I ever get along without him?

I really have nothing to add, this is just another testimonial to ouroccasionally annoying and always talkative little mechanical friends.
As a master rifleman I am able to mow down mobs pretty darn fast. The even-conning (white) or blue ones drop especially fast. When I am taking out a lair with 5 white mobs spawning per cycle my little droid gets very little rest. I'll sit at range, kill one in a two or three seconds, hit the droid macro, make sure he starts moving in, then tab to switch targets, kill in two to three seconds, rinse, repeat. I almostnever lose a corpse --maybe one in a thousand kills.
My droid has never been attacked (since I never group with him). He goes bravely into a mess of rancors to harvest the goods. They have always ignored him.
My favorite is to "bounce" between natural lairs. Kill off all the spawned mobs at one lair move overa bit to another lair and kill off that lair's spawns. I waste absolutely no time in finding and looting the corpses myself. If I'm taking out red-cons, the droid frees me up to rest and heal a bit between fights, as required.
My little harvester droid rocks. He has freed me to kill ALOT more then would otherwise be possible. And at 107 he harvestsmore resources then I do. All and all, I'd pay megacreditsto replace him if I had to. The 50-75k average price is a steal for what he does for me; he's paid for himself many times over.

HaHa I just ordered an awesome droid. A guy on Starsider just managed to hit 117 harvest bonus and one of the little suckers is mine
Also if there are any rangers on starsider that want a 106 harvest droid for free, give me a tell.

I thought it'd be cool to use a treadwell droid, the one with all the arms that looks like a little tank, as a harvesting droid. It just looks like it would be good at skinning a creature. Then I found out that it lacks the module slots to be effective.

My question is I : do MR see a difference in there outcome, because I dont and my HD is a 114 made by OCKTY!! I mean I get an extra 2 or three units. I have experimented alot with this and it doesnt seem worth it!! IMO
