And yeah i agree about the eq2/wow similarities. Some of them do look sci-fi though, just cartoonish sci-fi.
We havnt seen how they look when we play them so whats the point?
Sure if they look out of place after we have played then ill say so but as of now i have no idea how they are going to look in the ui. Could look good, could look crap.

no, they suck. i don't like them. they completely clash with the rest of the UI IMO. and no, i dont' want the UI changed to fit the icons.

Ick. Don't like them. Picasso meets marvel comics. I found them distracting.

The icons... yuck
That's my current biggest gripe with the curb, they are *way* to colorful and do not fit at all into the overall look of the UI.

I agree..
The old/current (pre-curb) icons are clean and easily visible. They're simple, clean, stand out more clearly on your toolbar, and match the different UI palettes.
The new icons stand out only with garish colors, and a cartoon appearance. Looks out of place, cluttered, and "multi-colored quilt"-like when the toolbar is full. No UI palette color makes it look acceptable..
The old icons gave more of a "futuristic" and Star-Warsy appearance on screen, rather than... something from a Spawn comic or a medieval fantasy rpg.
And yeah, what's with the macabre and gore look? If you've seen Steve Dillon's artwork from the comic "Preacher", the artwork looks EXACTLY like that. (cool in comics, but very out of place for SWG icons... or, anything star wars related).

Well, if its anything to go by, my eleven year old stood looking over my shoulder while I was hunting this morning, took one look at the graphics and said "Why did they change the little pictures Dad? They're all messy".

The simplicity of this comment is shear beauty. Post this for Tiggs to see!

Well, I guess we all have different taste. Those are just plain ugly as far as I am concerned and if on the toolbar they will be very distracting, but again to each his own I guess.

GREAT!!! Colored icons...let's give our video cards more stuff to process so the lag gets worse in the big cities.

I love how intuitive these new icons are. Lets see the Yoda Icon obviously summons a little green wrinkled muppet that has a lightsaber and he has a glowing aura so it might jusst be the personal light. The horses asz icon either is behead animal or it summons a pile of horse manure that will bury your opponent, or perhaps you, up to it's/your neck. The toolbar appears bigger now and seems to take up even more of the screen. This could be just an illusion but I do not think so.
Also did the creature and terrain graphics on TC look more simplified than before or is that just me?

The current icons work well. They are cleanly designed and their high contrast style makes them easy to pick out in the small space they occupy on the toolbar.
I haven't been able to get on to TC so I can only judge the new icons from the linked images. Their garish cartoony design looks out of place in the SWG UI and I can imagine them being hard to make out when shrunk to toolbar size.

Well, after 7 and a bit hrs play, I think I don't like the new icons.
They are too cartoony, too garish and they don't convey enough information about the function.
OK, the emote buttons and others, feh, who uses them?
But the combat ones? And for forage? area track?
cluttered. unclear.
YUCK
