Thread: An Idea to get Noticed (Maybe)

Sigh, it's touching to see how sad you all are, but how you still believe in a sense of social responsibility. It is sad fact that while that makesRangers more dignified and mature, it will also never get us anywhere, in a situation like this, I doubt the quiet voice will never get heard.

Wow, 10 Master Rangers per server... if that. Maybe.

Did it help the Wookies, I never noticed any demonstration, did I miss something good? Rats, I am always outta the loop.

I personally think Calc doing his thing as Correspondent, along with Brisc, and us maintaining our calm reasonable deameanor will work.

Cuz I gotta clue ya - you seen the Wookie armor? Ghastly comes to mind - overgrown Longaberger rejects is being nice. If we demonstrate and get rewarded with something like that - I can only shudder to think what we would get -- improved milking??

tongue firmly in cheek, only para 3 is for real - well 4 too, about the armor anyhow

Well ...sadly, it seems this idea will fall by the wayside. However, thanks for all the input. Several of you are probably right, there are not even enough of us left per server to even be noticed all in one place.

Calc ...I relent to your call for a quiet solution for awhile longer.

However, like was also said above by more than one... the DEVs seemed to respond very quickly to an issue that had been around a long time when the players stood together in protest. I'm glad the Wookiees got their armor, I'm glad DEs are getting new stuff, I'm glad Jedi are getting a revamp. Great. Good. Wonderful. Now ....how about fitting the Rangers in within the next 2 patches. Something. Anything. A new trap, a harvesting fix ....SOMETHING!?!

Whew ...gotta go count to 10...

Thanks for checking the idea out folks.

Doesthe QuietSqueeky Wheel ever get greased? Not when there are 31 other wheels Letting loose an Unholy Screech!

In all honesty, There is no "Ranger Development team" to cater to us......Hell, i've never even Seen "A Ranger Dev Guy" type who does things for us(Excluding Our corespondant Calc of course )....So it leads me to believe that there is Just ONE Development team (Perhaps two) that is responsible for the changes that occur in the game. So When Droid Engineers, Bountyhunters, Cheffs, Pikemen, Commandos, Rangers, Imagedesigners, Squadleaders, Jedi, And EVERYONE else want things to get done for their profession The Devs Can't handle the demand...Big suprise . Anyhow, So what happens is the Devs St up a program Where they get 32 posts with 6 issues each(192 total) EVERY WEEK...Then they Go threw and "prioritize" the list by what they deam the most important in relationship to the percentage of the community supporting the issue. Then they start Chipping away at the top of the list.

Facts:

*We are a Working class- Not broken, NotOverly Bugged

*We Represent a Very small Percentage of the community(Read: small$$$)

*We Want Major Changes that will Require Major Resouces(Read: Negative~BIG$$$ )

*We Arn't Making Noise, Threats or Disrupting the "Flow" of the game.

So looking at that, And Putting yourself in the Dev's Shoes....Would you Fix us When you have at least 8 other professions who ARE Atleast one of the Following:

*Broken

*Represent a Large Percentage of the community(Read: BIG$$$)

*Want Little Dinky Changes That only Require one minorfile *Tweek*in the patch(Read: Negative~Small$$$)

*Consist of Uber L33T Spaming 5year old Freaks That Cause Numerous Flames, Rants, And complaints...And take away from the Starwars Experience as a Whole...Affecting the Whole Community.

If i Were a Dev i wouldn't Fix us either.....I(Dev) see and Aknowledge that there is a Problem with rangers that is Going to Take Serious work to Rectify, BUT the Few of them Leftare Handling it Very responcibly and Have "other" things going for them right now....On the Other hand i have half a Dozen Communities of Whiny (FOTM)Brats Who want a Just a Bugged Schematic or Specialfixed/Tweeked, That can't Look beyond that One Single Flaw and Are Making Sure EVERYONE know thier Plight.....If i Fix the Brats then they will at least be Quiet for a While, But i won't have time for the Rangers...I'll Just get em Realy Good Next week, The're patient. But With next week Comes Another Dozen Whiny Brats....Lather, Rinse, Repeat...

How Knows, Maybe We'll get Lucky one Week

If I recall correctly, some people got banned for the wookiee incident. Also, the devs stated that it was the well presented cases and not the protest that that swayed (I'd like to believe that was the case).

Well presented cases alway seem to line the devs wastebaskets. What gets action is a furor. Can you name me one time when a well presented, mature, thoughtful proposal originated from a forum member, went to the correspondent, and wound up as a feature in the game in a short amount of time without the furor? I cant. I can however list dozens of times when a group of less mature, very very upset people raised a furor and made all kinds of threats and got what they wanted in very short order. The wookie armor, the (partial) repeal of house object limits, the repeal of crafting changes, object decay, all sorts of combat nerfs, changes to merchant vendor timeouts, and I could go on and on.
