Ah. It was my understanding that all the speed mods were broken atm. Well, its good to know that some of the trees give good bonuses.
I don't think it will tempt me into those trees though, I'll just keep enjoying the quests for their own sake and ignoring the bonuses. It WILL be interesting to see how the CB changes things. Maybe some of the trees that seem useless now were made with the CB in mind and will actually give a meaningful boost?
But that's all speculation. *waits impatiently*

I actually like the +5 trapping, if that means my traps will raise a complexitylevel, and let me affect stronger creatures than the dune kimogila I can trap now.
If it only raises my "trap certificate" to allow a to-betrap they plan to include in our next revamp then... Well, I would be quite crossed.

While we work to bring attention to this injustice to the Ranger community, we can't lose sight of our ongoing problems and suggest abilities and revamps to the Force Sensitive: Survival that should be coming to us directly, as Rangers.
FS: Survival needs fix'n, but Ranger still needs its own fix'n. We still needsuperior Creature Harvesting, better traps and Trapping, something more than crawling speed for Terratin Negotiation, a sigificant boost to Creature To-Hit, etc... While FS: Survival does need much better mods than it does currently, I would hate to feel as though I had to pick up FS: Survival to feel complete as a Ranger.

I vote for Stealth. Once we can run up hills at normal speed and crawl faster, let us walk with stealth--a built in chance of an animal or NPC not realizing we're there because they don't see/hear us. Because we're just that good.

Ummmm.... Can we talk about this for a minute?
(even though they're making it so Surveyors will be able to find the best spots on the planet without even leaving town).
How? and isn't that a bit unbalancing?

Now... not 100% sure. But last I had read the surveying distances were capped at 320m. Even with a bonus of +50 a player wouldn't be able to survey outside the 320m distance. It would be like a ranger having a Camping bonus of +10. It really doesn't do anything if you've already hit 100.
This may have changed... just thought there was an 18 questions answer that had stated this.

Force Surveying, Box 1: "Your Force sensitivity allows you to find the best spot for mining the most resources." (Improved Mining)
Force Surveying, Box 2: "Your Force sensitivity allows you to scan the ground beneath your feet, leading you to the largest vein of resources available." (Select Yields)
Force Surveying, Box 3: "Your can sense around you the best location for resource gathering of any kind." (Preferred Results)
Force Surveying, Box 4: "Your [sic] have the remarkable ability to find the best spot for surveying any resource of any type." (Sharpened Assaying.)
So maybe the range remains the same, but there's going to be some clear advantages there. Since harvesting mechanically is also part of how I make a living (or keep my cost of living down), it looks like I need to get my non-combat alt those five badges so I won't be overrun on every single shift by those who have these skills, and so I can have a shot at decent areas and untouched veins.
Oh wait, I'm not on right after server up, so that'll happen anyway. Nevermind.

I'm getting sympathy from all sorts of people over the FS thing. Even people who've never been Rangers wince as soon as they're over the shock of our +5 camping bonus.
They might as well make that box give us another newbie melon. It might be more useful.

Well hecki would have traded all the points in if it would have given me one of the pre-nerf melons. Not those cheap Maroj imitations. I want the original (this is eating up to much of the database for you to have one of)... Melons

I really love how they're doing all these changes to free up the database space, but the Sith are dropping non-stackable resources at an alarming rate for a crafting quest that requires something like 200 of them.

With the +5 in trapping, has anyone successfully been able to trap a krayt yet?
