I was talking to someone last night who sold the current Dant Wooly on Eclipse for 500cpu. I had to balk. I'm selling for 20 to a good person. I just think it's funny that I'm sitting on a stack that could sell for 19million...and yet will end up being sold for under 1 million.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

The cartels will never work. Simply because of greed you will always see one or two of them outpricing the others.

Yeah I mean whats 60CPU when your only pulling 60-250 per creature right Hardly worth while.

Actually i havent sold any of it myself since as an Armorsmith i want to stockpile for myself

hehe yep - I never said that it was not a fair price. I wouldn't have sold anything if I thought that were the case, but it's the precedent that concerns me.... I did some calculations last night and armorsmiths make around 85cpu at the prices they sell their stuff for. And for what? running a factory? I know my DE (well, soon to be retired) alt doesn't do that well. I mean, I can't leave my char out on endor, come back in 24 hours and have a pile of stuff that I can sell for 85cpu....

Oh and mantigure screechers have this attack known as 'plague strike,' so hunting endorian wooly hide isn't as easy as some would think it to be.

Also,Kueller, who routinely po-poosother people'sauctions by callingthem price-gougers and threatening to ban them from his shop (lol - has anyone on the server even thought about maybe thinking about buying anything from his shop) seems to be one of the ring-leaders.

Anyway, I sold 78k to an armorsmith last night, but if they hadn't consipired to fix the prices, I would have offered 2-3x that, even at 40 or 50 cpu.

Generally Ionly sell to friends anymore, usually fora littleless than the big-names (or the people who want to be big-names -- ie., Kueller) arepaying just because I'm tired of dealing with all their BS. I don't really need the credits anymore, so it takes a lot to motivate me to harvest for Bloodfin's newest a$$hat in training.

But in my next post, I'll tell you how I really feel... haha.

Actually as an armorsmith i will have to disagree with you on this quite strongly. Any decent armorsmith will have spent months collecting a lot of rare resources and paying through the nose for them. That 78CPU is for sliced comp. I charge 28k for an ubese jacket unsliced 75% kin. Im using befa woolyhide (went for 50-100CPU) Calo polymer (you saw the auction this morning on its value) as well as some super metals. I have 4 million invested in non-organics so far for my business. I have made 3 million from it in the last 3 weeks. Its very profitable even from an ubese standpoint. If i wasnt a ranger i would have a hard time staying an armorsmith for the prices of organics.

As for Endor. Go after Gurrecks they drop from 50-130 per. And after non-screecher Mantigrues that dont have plaque strike. As a CH with one as a pet i love that attack. I have a master doc who goes out with us to help with that. Or to a TKM/Ranger it would be childs play. After 4 screecher missions i had 700 mind wounds i couldnt do anything about. Thats why we get paid so much thought risk and time investment.

But can't you make the same argument for my skillset -- I can harvest as much as I do because I have spent a lot of time exploring the various planets and figuring out where things spawn etc... (I actually had a player ask three times last night if I really hunt without running missions lol).

That + the investment of time spent actually harvesting the stuff adds up to be an extremely highwhen you think in terms of opportunity costs. So, just as AS's and other crafters can argue that they are justified at marking up their wares because they have spent so much time and capital collecting resources, I think that I can make just as valid an argument when it comes tomy product - just my investment is measured in time rather than credits, and that's a pretty precious commodity (well, not so precious that I can't waste it posting to the forums lol).

The difference is that armorsmithshardly everget called price-gougers for offering stuff for sale at85 cpu (or even 78 cpu), whereas I routinely get called a price gouger for tryingto sell anything for morethan 10 cpu. It gets really, really old after awhile.

And, honestly, when you think about all the things I want to do vs. the time investment required to make any sort of income harvesting organics, I'm not really coming out ahead either. Yep, sure, at the end of the night, I might after 500k - 1m more credits worth of stuff, but I'm also out the 3-6 hours that it took me to hunt -- time I could have spent leveling FS skills (well, nm that for now, as the good stuff is on endor and dath atm), hanging out with friends, or offline to watch movies or read books, etc....

But I get called a price gouger.

We get called price gougers on Bloodfin not becaus of our normal prices. When at look at artisan harvested items metals floras ect. The average is 2cpu to maybe 10cpu. I have seen long dead metals going for 50CPU but its extremely rare. What we as scouts and rangers are saying is that what we do is worth 25 times more then what they do. And it really is i know that. But just look at it from an outsiders viewpoint. But it also comes from some records we have set on Bloodfin. Most notably for tat avian meat. Why did we all fight the creature harvesting tool from bloodfin so much? 400cpu for Tat Avain or 3200 per Nuna killed. If you were just a standard doctor dont you think you would look at it and just go "Why do i bother?". We didnt set these prices the market did. So dont worry about what the non-scouts say about our prices. Just think about maybe offering up tier 2 and 3 level organics for the non billionairs to buy. The nimh;s and such wont pay for an OQ800 PE700 Avian meat but most doctors would gladly pay 20cpu for it.
