I will forever think of the Spam Channel as "Monkey Enclosure" now.

Only pop in there occaisionally to see what insane prices are being charged for what. I leave before my eyes start to bleed.

Having seen monkeies throw poop at each other, and me I can understand the frustration. Asuming your product is the same, there is something to be said for psychology. If others are bidding, there is a natural desire in the other monkies to "win" even if they don't really need it or even want it. And a desire to scoff at it if others haven't wanted it.

Yeah icarus my crafter was set up for a great working agreement with a master of the vette. He would supply me with the schematic and powerplants at 1.5 mil. I would build them as a master artisan and charge 2.5 to 3 to sell them. But between the negative posts like your talking about (some people dont understand the difference between AV-21 schematic and AV-21 deed) and the fact that the markets being flooded with high ticket items. Its really ugly in there.

I'll be hanging on to my meat if it doesnt sell. And when there is a meat drought on Ahazi I shall ramp the price up to unbelieveable proportions, and watch the monkies cry out in pain as I twist their monkey nuts off for all they are worth!!!

So anyway, the lessons learnt from this are to finda buyer, and get the resource. Not the other way around. Shame really, I was hoping I could become quite the capitalist.

Actually thats mostly the lesson. As a ranger you should have a good feel for what the market needs. WHich is always avian meat, herbivore meat and wooly hide. You should be keeping an eye on these resources either by updating SWGCraft or by randomly visiting the different planets. If you find a good one just stockpile and then find a buyer. There is a hide on bloodfin that will be highly in demand of Armorsmiths. Right now the top prices is 60cpu. But it should start to go up again soon. And this is the first good spawn we have had in well over a month. So last week before this spawned. Any good old wooly would have been worth a lot. Or any decent herbivore is the same way. We havent had a good spawn of that in a couple months. Im collecting 600OQ/600PE for my wife because its the best we've had in a while. Although on Dath you could kill Malkoks and get OQ950 PE100 herbivore.

Its an odd market. And we run it!

For this very reason I keep my clientell exclusive and I test them with smaller sales first. When I started withmy "no price left extravigant" campian / sale pitch I knew that there would be some yahoo trying to buy mine at 20 and sell at 200.

Yeah Fodder - they all got together and conspired to keep the hide prices at 60 cpu. I did sell some of this, but I'm not going after it with the zeal that I normally would.

Yeah I mean whats 60CPU when your only pulling 60-250 per creature right Hardly worth while.

Actually i havent sold any of it myself since as an Armorsmith i want to stockpile for myself

My tactic goes like this;

Find an auction for a product = to or similar to yours, and make note of the persons name. Then send that guy a tell and see if he is still buying at that price.

Half thetime the guy who was auctioning is fondeling his balls hoping a higher bidder will come. In the meantime the customer is waiting. Other times the customer had "won" the auction, but the auctioneer didnt get into contact with them... so there they are wanting to buy the product at what is often twice the value I would usually sell at.

I dont know if this makes me a snake for stealing someones customer, but the reality is meat is easy to sell. Only time you have a hard time getting rid of it is if the quality is low.

Etiquette lessons #1; never use caps in your whole header or post.
#2; if a post/thread really pisses you off ... kill it with silence
#3; never write a post more than 3 paragraphs- unless it a guide
#4; never say "sticky this," others will if its worth a sticky.
#5; in the heading never say "devs please read."
#6; never ask for a rollback, just wont happen.
#7; Never use too many colors.
#8; Avoid quoting quotes of quotations, he said she said who said??

Which is why I did a search to find out the price that the meat was selling at. Shame that a lower price wasnt tempting enough.

Well if its something you know they will need. Just stockpile it. One of the things we are seeing on the bloodfin trade forums is a call for long dead organics and metals. And there paying top price for them

Well it came time to sell my most recent haul of Naboo carnivore meat. It had taken me many hours of hunting little critters in order to get a sizeable stack, but I finally had my target 30K. Off to the Ahazi trade forums I went and did a quick search for the resource name. Ooo look at what I found, threads buying the meat from around 75 - 80 cpu. Great! Being the imperial capitalist that I am I ecided to make my own auction with no buyout in a hope that I could get a better price. I started off with a lower minimum bid than what I had previously seen in an effort to later get the price driven up. But much to my dissapointment there were plenty of applicants to crap all over my auction (Well by plenty I mean just one). The most frustrating part was that this particular person was a customer of mine who I had previously sold meat to not long ago. Suffice to say he wont be getting repeat business.

And that is why I shall only be keeping to the warmth that is the Ranger forum, and leaving the monkies to bicker and throw poop between them.
