When I'm staying on Yavin 4 I usually head back to the mining outpost each night. If I head to the med center there it saves me using up resources on a camp (to heal my wounds).

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

I thought the med centers in outposts didn't heal wounds. Did they change that?

Yep it seems to work on Yavin 4. The best outpost for fixing yourself up is the Dantooine Tavern though. You can listen/watch the entertainers and are able to heal your wounds manually at the same time.

The old Wookie of the Woods.

Having lived most of the last year ont he Forrest Moon, here is some information you might find useful. (note, if you don't like RP, go to the last paragraph)

If you should choose to spend a prolonged time on the Forrest Moon, I have but one bit of advice. Choose sides in the war that is taking place there and make use of it. Friends will make your life a lot easier and reduce one of the greatist risks of the moon.

For generations, the Ewok and Dulok tribes have been locked in a heated battle for territory and hunting rights. The Mauraders have sided with the Duloks in many cases and this places the Ewoks on the defensive. Fortunately the Duloks keep to mountain and plains areas where they scrape out a living. The Mauraders are a bit more spread out, often sending exploration missions out to find what resources they may need, and they are always on the lookout for technology.

The Gondula Tribes make their homes on the water, prefering the safety of an isolated and well defended manufactured island to the trees of their Panshee neighbors. Some years ago, or at least as I was told by the Spirit Master Ponbah while sitting at hif fire, there was a great raid upon a third village that was located on the northern shore of the Shallow Lake (located just north of the Research Outpost. This event appearantly transpired long before that post was established) by a Korga Tribe. The tribes had been enjoying a minor peace after a seemingly large pack of Bolma passed through the region, and there was more than enough food for both tribes to hunt wihtout infringing on the other. The peace was borken over a dispute having something to do with the eyes of the Bolmas ... my Gondulan is not great and the dialect often confounds me. Regardless, a night time raid was carried out by the Korga and most of the village was asleep. Because the males were out hunting, only the pups and the women were there to defend themselves. The Korga (quite good swimmers that they are) crept onto the platforms and slaughtered the billage without much effort. The Gondula have never forgiven the Korga for this and have been bitterly at war with them ever since.

The Panshee are your garden variety tree dwellers. They are magnificent hunters and often appreciate the assistance that a good hunter can bring to the tribe. Once close neighbors to teh Gondula, there have been intermarrying between them and the two tribes are very very close. They see one another as borther and sister, and in theri legends they are both descended from the same part of the "Great Tree" or the same tree or something. The mythos gets very confounding if you listen to them long enough. They have a special hatred for the Pubam, but why isn't entirely clear. There are many stories but I don't think even they remember what started it. The fude between them is brutal and one can make some great headway by presenting their warriors with Pubam scalps.

The Donkuwah are a strange and secretive tribe of Duloks. They remain mostly to the North East of the Smuggler's outpost and are considered holy by the other Dulok tribes. Though I have not had the need to fight them, and they treat me descently enough based on my reputation (fight in a war for a year and you get a reputation, good or bad). Their mystics are revered by the Duloks and feared by the Ewoks. I wish I could tell you more. All I know is they have no love for the Gondula.

The Korga are in my pinion the most annoying of the Dulok Tribes. They sing loud and raunchy songs, which can be fun especially when drinking something they call Kunngarti, a bitter and nastey drink that is made from chewed, spat out and formented roots. The only problem is the entire race is entirely tone deaf. They shreak at the top of their lungs and call it singing. Anyway .... they are mostly scavangers, scraping up most of what they need from abandoned kills. There is something they revere about Lantern Bird droppings but what it is I have no idea. They are an unfortunate and and dispicable group. But don't let my opinion sway you.

Of all the Dulok Tribes, the Pubam are the fiercest warriors. Their scouts are well renowned for their tenacity and I highly recommend a policy of avoidance. I have been to one of their "comming of age" rituals and it is one of the most brutal and bloodthirsty activities I have ever been a party to. Seven of the twelve young candidates died in the one I witnessed,a nd their corpses were hung on the village fenceline as an example of what happens to the weak. It is their belief that to bathe in the blood of their enemies is to take on their strength. I have also been told that they prefer skinning humans because their hides make for the softest leather. Not a friendly bunch. They have a strong hatred for the Panshee, but as I said, neither group remembers what started the rift. They respect strength, especially when it is demonstrated against their enemies.

The Mauraders are an interesting bunch, remaining apart fromthe Endorian Wars but finding more friends among the Duloks than the Ewoks. They are the most commonly seen because of their numerous scouting expiditions. They often travel in pairs to find needed resources or to go hunting for technology. They are ravenous for spare parts. This leads to initially aggressive meetings. They would rather kill a stranger from off world and take his goods rather than trade or negotiate with them. Once you make a name with them, however, they are a great deal more agreeable.

A note about the Jinda ... they are a queer group, and tend to keep to themselves. They are generally unagressive and have a neutral stance among the others. They seem to be reviered by both teh Dulok and Jinda Tribes but it may be because they are not identified with either group. They make me uncomfortable, so I don't spend much time with them.

If you want to survive on Endor, your life will be made much easier if you negotiate with the different factions. Killing the enemies of one side or another. It can be arranged so that only one of the Dulok tribes hates you and the rest of the Dulok, Ewok and Maurader factions respect you, be it out of fear or cooperation. The Key is the Gondula Tribe. I can say no more. The task is up to you.

((thought about editing the numerous typoes ... but you know .. there is something about being an illiterate ranger that just seems .... somehow .... right. Just chalk it up to my big wookie fingers not able to manipulate these tiny buttons on the datapad.))
